1. What are the benefits of maternity insurance?
The Measures stipulate that maternity insurance benefits include:
Maternity medical expenses (prenatal examination expenses, medical expenses incurred due to childbirth, medical expenses for family planning, contraception, birth control surgery, etc.);
maternity allowance during maternity leave;
Other expenses related to maternity insurance as stipulated by laws, regulations and the state.
2. The duration of maternity insurance benefits
The starting time of maternity insurance benefits is the same as that of basic medical insurance for employees.
Among them, if the application for maternity allowance has not been paid for 6 consecutive months in the place of insurance, each co-ordination area can make retrospective payment according to the actual payment after 6 months of payment.
3. Assisted reproduction diagnosis and treatment projects will also be included
The "Measures" also stipulate that the diagnosis and treatment items (including assisted reproduction-related diagnosis and treatment items) that are urgently needed, mature in technology, safe and reliable in a timely manner should be included in the scope of maternity medical expenses in accordance with the procedures.
4. The level of treatment and settlement method of maternity medical expenses
In principle, the level of maternity medical expenses shall not be lower than the level of basic medical insurance for local employees.
Maternity medical expenses are billed directly.
5. The amount of maternity allowance
The maternity allowance shall be calculated and paid according to the average monthly salary of the employee in the previous year (i.e., the calculation base) of the employer at the time of the employee's birth or termination of pregnancy divided by 30 days, and then multiplied by the number of days of maternity leave that the employee should be entitled to.
The calculation and payment base of maternity allowance for flexibly employed persons is the same as that of their contribution base in the previous year.
6. Number of days of maternity leave
1. Female employees are entitled to 98 days of maternity leave for childbirth;
2. In case of dystocia, the maternity leave shall be increased by 15 days;
3. In the case of multiple births, the maternity leave shall be increased by 15 days for each additional child.
4. On this basis, female employees can enjoy the extended maternity leave stipulated in the "Zhejiang Provincial Population and Family Planning Regulations", that is, the maternity leave for one child is increased by 60 days; The second and third children will be given an additional 90 days of maternity leave.
5. If the employee terminates the pregnancy before 4 months of pregnancy, he or she shall enjoy 15 days of maternity leave;
6. If the pregnancy is terminated after 4 months but 7 months of pregnancy, the maternity leave is 42 days;
7. If the pregnancy is terminated after 7 months of pregnancy, the maternity leave shall be 98 days.
7. Application Process
In principle, the insured person shall apply to the local medical security agency for maternity allowance before December 31 of the following year after giving birth or after surgery.
The medical security agency shall complete the application within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the application, and for those who meet the requirements, verify their benefits and give them a one-time calculation.
