Its main responsibility is to promote cross-strait communication and exchanges and improve cross-strait relations. As the deputy responsible person of Taiwan's "Mainland Affairs Council," he went so far as to openly declare that cross-strait relations are "relations between the two countries," which is a complete self-denial, and Taiwan's "Mainland Affairs Council" has lost its most basic principles and is only trying to go along with and please the Lai Ching-te authorities.
