Adobe Bridge is a powerful file browser that makes it easy to manage your own images and make it easy for images to open in Photoshop. Both Windows and Mac systems have their own file browsers (Windows has File Explorer, Mac has Finder). So why not just use the system that comes with it?
Bridge is more powerful and easier to use than the file browser that comes with the system. Bridge can import images directly into Camera Raw, Photoshop's powerful image editing plug-in.
Before we can use Bridge, we first need to install it. Bridge is a standalone application. Therefore, you need to quickly install Bridge using the Adobe Creative Cloud application.
Let's get started!
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="8" > Step 1 Open the Creative Cloud creative app</h1>
First, we need to open the Creative Cloud app, which we used when we learned in the previous tutorial how to keep Photoshop updated. You can also open the Creative Cloud app within Photoshop.
In the Help menu of the Photoshop menu bar, select the Update option.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="32" > step 2 scroll down to Bridge's position</h1>
When the Creative Cloud app opens, it displays a list of all adobe software currently installed on your computer. The following illustration is a list of other available applications. The number of apps available depends on your Creative Cloud subscription plan, but Bridge is included in any subscription plan and can be installed for free.
Scroll down the list until you can see the Bridge application.

The installation may take several minutes.

When complete, Bridge moves up the list of Creative Cloud apps, appearing with other installed software. You can open Bridge from the Creative Cloud app by tapping the Open button.
Bridge can also be opened from Photoshop, which we'll learn in the next lesson.
Installed apps display an Open button instead of Install
In the next lesson, we'll learn how to use Bridge to import photos from your camera to your computer.
