Chejiawan Township is located in the southeast of Dongxiang County, with an average altitude of 2,403 meters and a cultivated land area of 20,200 acres.

In order to make full use of land resources, improve land efficiency, and activate the potential of agricultural development, the local government has carried out survey and rectification of abandoned land in the jurisdiction in combination with the actual situation of the village, and improved the quality and efficiency of the transferred land by recruiting companies, cooperatives, family farms, and large planters, so that the abandoned fields and wasteland in the past have become prosperous fields for producing grass fodder, corn and potatoes.

"We take the remediation of abandoned land as the top priority of the township's work, introduce 5 cooperatives to carry out large-scale circulation of more than 20,000 acres of cultivated land in the township, invest in 64 agricultural production machinery, comprehensively promote planting technologies such as Dingling mulching and black film mulching, and drive cooperatives to build a concentrated contiguous 10,000 mu potato planting project through awards and subsidies, so that the cultivated land in the township can be restored and upgraded from wasteland to fertile land." In recent years, Dongxiang County has introduced a series of policies for "wasteland" to "fertile land", mainly through the form of awards and subsidies, to encourage agricultural enterprises, cooperatives, family farms and other business entities to transfer and plant abandoned land, mountain and dry land, and give priority to the supply of agricultural materials for abandoned land remediation, and also invite experts in provincial and state abandoned land remediation to hold on-site training on abandoned land remediation and agricultural machinery use operation training, these measures have further improved land utilization, so that abandoned land "reborn".

"Dongxiang County has an area of 760,000 mu of cultivated land, and 582,000 mu of cultivated land with agricultural rights, including 496,000 mu of basic farmland and 102,000 mu of irrigated land. Up to now, 54,000 acres of abandoned land in the county have been remediated. Ma Mingcai, director of the county agricultural technology extension center, said.
