The angular pattern of the body is not accidental, on the one hand, to increase solidity, and on the other hand, to make the most of the internal potential. In addition, it can be felt in the luggage with surprising space and size above the shoulders.

As a result, the model is aimed at active people and families with children – customers who are concerned about the technical maturity of the vehicle, its safety, and the indisputably high practical value of the vehicle. The manufacturer claims that it is a "versatile vehicle designed for adventure and fun". Finally, Euro NCAP's special program to assess the safety of commercial vehicles pays special attention to the availability of ADAS systems, with the Transit Courier being the only van to receive the highest Platinum rating in 2023.

In Slovakia, the Tourneo Courier is sold with an EcoBoost petrol engine with a maximum power of 100 kilowatts. The power is 92 kW (125 hp) and the share price is 22,248 euros, or the automatic transmission version starts at 24,048 euros. The device is only available in two versions, Titanium and Active, while the latter also offers plastic wheel fender edges, off-road-looking front and rear diffusers, navigation, 17-inch Onyx Black light alloy wheels, etc., adaptive cruise control, or center-keeping lane. A digital dashboard or a SYNC 8 system with a 4-inch touchscreen and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay are already included in the price of the base version, which comes with 16-inch Sparkle Silver light alloy wheels.

While the front end of the vehicle is reminiscent of an SUV due to the vertically aligned headlights and tall radiator grille, what we actually see is a pure MPV. It has a high profile, a relatively low chassis (for easy access), and a relatively tall seat. All of these features, combined with a truly spacious interior, provide a good foundation for using the Tournea Courier as a family car.

Those very hard surface materials and considerable stiffness are deplorable, but we find in them the promise of durability and ease of maintenance.

We tested the version with an automatic transmission and a one-liter EcoBoost petrol engine. This three-cylinder unit is considered reliable and powerful enough to meet the needs of most motorists, albeit the largest. The maximum power of 125 hp and 200 Nm of torque indicate weak performance on the highway with a full load. To be clear, this car with this engine can easily travel through Slovakia and also travel to and from Croatia. But when overtaking on hills and highways, sometimes you feel like you could use the extra 100 Nm and 50 kW.

With an average fuel consumption of 8.1 l/100 km for the 3,193 km, we rate it as neutral. We don't think this is a high consumption, although we can well imagine that for a potential buyer of 3 litres, the actual fuel consumption would be 6.5 litres/100 km. Even if we want to tell you that with a consistently gentle driving style, you will get significantly better balance, in reality you will not achieve significantly better values - especially if you are driving a family car, so the engine will work under load.

Despite the fact that fuel consumption does not reach the minimum, we still have to appreciate the driving characteristics. In our opinion, they are balanced and worthy of being used as a family car. The chassis is very well tuned, and you can rely on the gearbox, although the engine can experience considerable understeer when driving quietly without load. In corners, the vehicle leans quite properly, but it is very stable and comfortable on the highway. From behind the steering wheel, the driver can have excellent visibility, which is also due to the size of the mirror surfaces.

All in all, we have a very positive review of the Ford Tourneo Courier. During our week driving it mainly in the city and with our families, we appreciated all the positive aspects of it, such as the large amount of storage space, the well-tuned chassis for a comfortable ride, and the overall good driving atmosphere. The huge luggage space is a valuable added value that you will especially appreciate not only during family trips, but throughout the year.

Let us add that the Ford Tourneo Courier is also currently sold as a family device. This version has the richest standard equipment in the segment, while the version with automatic transmission starts at 21,890 euros. The version with a 6-speed manual gearbox is priced at 20,290 euros.
