In June this year, after exchanging offers with Sun and Xia, she then sent an invitation letter to the two in the name of a local medical device company in the Philippines, inviting them to go to Manila from June 20 to June 23 to discuss the details of the cooperation.
Before boarding the plane on June 20, Sun sent his chat history with Li, Li's photo, and her business invitation to his assistant. After the plane landed that evening, Sun posted a video and photos to report his safety, in which he pointed to a young Chinese man wearing a mask and said, "Look at the driver and you're a good person." After that, contact was lost.

At 4 p.m. on June 21, Sun's friend received a call from his assistant saying that something had happened to Sun, that he had lost money playing cards last night, and that he wanted to pay it back.
The friend immediately realizes that something is wrong, and since Sun and Xia are not in the habit of playing cards, he deduces that the two must have been kidnapped.
Later, in the phone calls between Sun and his family, the statement changed again and again, and it seemed a little logically confusing.
At the beginning, he said that he wanted 5 million yuan to save Xia, but his family asked him if he was safe, and he said that I also wanted 5 million; He also claimed that he was fine, and he could leave soon after buying the ticket, and the assistant asked him to send a screenshot of the ticket, but he did not reply.
Later, Sun sent a WeChat message to ask if he had paid the money, and his family said that he could only take out more than 200,000 yuan, and Sun said that I would feel better if I paid it, but asked him if he was tortured, and he said no; Later, he said that he would have water to drink if he paid some money, but then changed his story and denied it.

Over there, Sun was delirious and communicated with his family about the ransom, and here, the kidnappers contacted Xia's family directly.
The kidnapper, a man with a Hokkien accent, opened his mouth at first and said that the ransom was 5 million yuan (US$687,732).
Later, after repeated negotiations, the two sides agreed to a ransom of 3 million yuan (US$412,639), and after the family paid 1.5 million yuan first, the kidnappers would release the person from a place where the family could see from afar, and the remaining 1.5 million yuan would be released.
The last words of the kidnappers and their families were: I will release you after I take your money.
At 9 a.m. PST on June 21, a friend of Sun's in the United States reported to the FBI (FBI), but the customer service simply asked for basic information, such as passport number, name, time and place of kidnapping, etc., and said that a reply would be given within one or two working days, and no contact information was left.
When my friend called the FBI later, he still jumped to leave a message, and no one contacted him to learn more about the situation. After giving the ransom and still tearing up the ticket, the truth behind it makes people's scalps tingle
On the morning of June 24, the Xia family paid the ransom to the designated account, and the kidnappers never showed up again. That night, FBI agents at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing approached the families of the two men to find out what was going on, and Xia provided the kidnappers' USDT account to the FBI. More than an hour later, the F.B.I. asked the family if they wanted to freeze the funds in the account. By this time, the family had been missing contact with the kidnappers for about 16 hours.
At this time, the families of the two still had hope, and when they raised some more money, they would go to the Philippines to find people through their own channels.
On the evening of June 25, after the family arrived in the Philippines, they met with senior Philippine police, two FBI agents who flew in from Washington, and the staff of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines. They learned that just after the Philippines began investigating the case, the bodies of two men were found "wrapped in blankets" on the shore of a lake in a small city more than 500 kilometers away from Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
The two did not have mobile phones around, and it seemed that they had experienced abuse before their deaths, and the final cause of death given by the police was suffocation.
The police said that the kidnappers had professionally processed the bodies and did not leave any clues such as fingerprints and hair of the criminals.
On July 3, local media outlet gmanetwork reported that the Philippine Immigration Bureau (BI) had found the suspect gang leader in an apartment in Pasay City.
Unexpectedly, the boss behind the kidnappers turned out to be a Chinese pregnant woman, who was responsible for contacting potential victims and arranging for the two to meet.
Once the prey hangs itself, her husband abducts the victim during the meeting between the two parties. Subsequently, a ransom is demanded from the victim's family via cryptocurrency.
The police revealed that her husband had previously been arrested by the police and is currently being held in the detention center of the Immigration Department. His deportation proceedings are still ongoing.
The woman was preparing to go through the same process, but she was cunning and kept using different names and addresses, making it difficult for authorities to track down and arrest her.
Currently, she is currently in immigration custody in connection with multiple kidnappings. The eviction process is being carried out in parallel.
