Friends who often watch news broadcasts should be able to feel that our official statements are becoming more and more intense, and the leader's confidential visit to Southeast Asian countries is somewhat similar to that before Vietnam's self-defense counterattack in 1979. That's why some people say that if you fight with one punch, lest a hundred punches come, it's time to clean up the Philippines. In fact, whether the PLA will make a move at this time, and whether it can make a move, is far from being as simple as everyone thinks, and we must first understand the underlying logic of why the South China Sea dispute will occur.
Why does the Philippines, which loves food and fun, dare to challenge our bottom line repeatedly? Therefore, whenever the government changes, there will be some politicians like clowns in the Philippines, making a fuss about Sino-US relations, and their original intention is that if they hold a thigh, they can get financial assistance or investment, which is much better than their own efforts to build, and if they hug the thigh of the United States, if they can force China to make concessions in the South China Sea, it will kill two birds with one stone.
Since 2020, the United States has fiercely suppressed China, providing the Philippines with an opportunity to take advantage of it, and conflicts with China in places such as Ren'ai Jiao and Scarborough Shoal have become commonplace. But the question is, does the Philippines dare to really fight? The answer is no, and the reasons are obvious.
The Philippines can't beat it on its own, and the big brother behind it can't be relied on. The decline of the United States' strength is obvious to all, the war in Ukraine has not been solved for more than two years, Russia is getting richer and richer, in the Middle East, the Houthis have attacked American aircraft carriers twice, and the United States has not dared to cry out for pain after being beaten, and it does not even dare to resist.
Since the Philippines does not want to fight, what is the purpose of its repeated provocations, in fact, it wants us to sit still, and it is best not to hold back.
Whether to fight or not depends on strength, and second, on the name, and there must be a basic factual judgment. Now on the South China Sea issue, whether we have sent troops to affect us, whether we have invaded our territory and airspace and committed war crimes, if these things have not yet appeared, it is not a good choice to fight back.
Why? Because the global public opinion is still in the hands of the United States, I am afraid that when the time comes, it will turn black and white upside down and put the pot on our heads, and such a thing will not be allowed to happen until our bottom line and interests are really touched. Secondly, we also need to consider the prediction of the outcome, whether we can achieve the desired effect by playing a game?
In addition to the Philippines, we also have problems left over from history with Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, but among them, the Philippines is undoubtedly the most ferocious. I am afraid that not necessarily, but on the contrary, other ASEAN countries will have a crisis of confidence because of this war, and if we take this small step, the advantages that we have worked so hard to build in ASEAN will be threatened, and this is not a loss-making deal?
At present, ASEAN is China's largest trading partner, accounting for more than 15% of our total foreign trade, and the ten ASEAN countries can be regarded as a low-level version of the European Union.
Finally, looking at the overall strategy, we can't move either. The chiefs are not thinking about who will survive today, but about the big picture.
The reason why we resisted US aggression and aided Korea back then was because New China was in ruins and needed to quickly gain a firm foothold in the world, while Western countries led by the United States blocked and obstructed us in every possible way, and we urgently needed a war of prestige. This dispatch of troops did achieve such an effect, and since then, no one dares to question the strength of the eastern powers.
The subsequent self-defense and counterattack war against Vietnam further stabilized our influence in the south, allowing Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to balance each other, and greatly alleviating the military pressure on the southern border.
On the other hand, although the Philippines is dancing happily now, is it necessary for us to beat people up; from the perspective of the overall strategy, it is just a bird in front of the United States, and the key to the real solution to the South China Sea issue lies between China and the United States.
In this case, then what is our strategy, two words "hardship", don't scold me for being soft, I have a reason to say this. The United States is weakening, the global landscape is facing a reshuffle, and no one can stop and contend with this great change. The current United States, like Britain before World War I, has entered a great cycle of weakening, from the inside, economically, the world has set off a wave of de-dollarization, the foundation on which the dollar hegemony rests is no longer stable, and the United States' 35 trillion US debt is undoubtedly like a time bomb, as long as the time comes, it will detonate the powder keg at any time.
Politically, 300 million Americans can't elect a normal president, Biden is old, Trump is extremely dangerous, no matter who comes to power, the next few years, the United States will be an extremely difficult model, militarily, the US military's global influence is declining, and it is facing the pressure of being overtaken by us, and morally, the deep binding with Israel has crushed the world's trust in Western civilization.
Under such circumstances, as soon as the time comes, US hegemony will collapse with a devastating momentum, and even be thrown into the dustbin of history.
Before that day comes, we must first do our own things well in a down-to-earth manner, develop high-precision and sophisticated technologies such as aerospace, military, and semiconductors, deepen the implementation of reform policies in the transition period, promote the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening the country through science and technology, and make full preparations for a new world without US hegemony.
