The former, the "2.14 incident", triggered a dispute between the two sides of the strait over maritime jurisdiction; The latter -- the Taiwan authorities accuse the mainland of carrying out "political manipulation," and it is up to the Mainland Affairs Council, not Taiwan's Coast Guard, to negotiate with the mainland. At the same time, the two "non-governmental incidents" have set off a frenzied wave of "opposition to reunification and hatred against China" in the Taiwan government and opposition and a wave of promoting "Taiwan independence" and the "two-state theory," thus making cross-strait relations even more tense.
If this kind of "non-governmental incident" had not been set against the backdrop of the Taiwan authorities' long-term "opposition to reunification and independence" and incitement to hatred of the mainland, it would not have turned into a political incident, and the ships of Taiwan's coast guard units would not have ruthlessly knocked over the mainland fishing boats and killed the mainland fishermen, and would not have dared to provoke the "one-China principle" in terms of "restricted waters" and "law enforcement powers and jurisdictions," and would have shown that the two sides of the strait are "not subordinate to each other" and that Taiwan is a "country." In the past, when the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces were not so rampant, and when the mainland was full of expectations for peaceful reunification and preferential treatment for Taiwan, the two sides of the strait would try their best to be as lenient as possible in handling "non-governmental disputes." However, the DPP, Tsai Ing-wen, and Lai Ching-te authorities thought that the mainland was weak and could be bullied, that they had the support of the United States, and that the Taiwan people would support them under the instigation of their "opposition to reunification and independence," and that the mainland did not dare to "exert its authority." Therefore, they became more and more arrogant, vicious and vicious, and turned the "non-governmental incident" into a political contest of "resisting reunification and seeking independence."
The incident in which Taiwan's fishing boat was seized and taken away is another deliberate provocation by the Taiwan side, which still goes its own way to provoke disputes and stirs up another round of black wind of hatred for the mainland and demonstration of Taiwan's "state" rights, knowing what the consequences will be.
