Today, the world is experiencing an unprecedented food crisis, and the bitter consequences of this predicament are not only preventing people from starvation, but also pushing millions of people around the world to the brink of hunger.
The hunger force is most ferocious in Syria, a West Asian country where more than half of the population is already food insecure, with more than 3.1 million people at severe starvation.
In the past, there have been many warnings that "if the food emergency in Syria is not taken into account, then more people will starve to death," but many people are still unimpressed and do not take this seriously.
But now it has finally attracted people's attention, only to find that the problem is not very small, what is the reason for this matter?
Why would such a well-behaved country face such a big dilemma as "how much appetite do people have, how big the grave is on the land"?
Grain production collapsed, and annual wheat production fell sharply.
As we all know, the most important issue in making a country self-sufficient and adaptable to it is to look at the development of both industry and agriculture.
Especially agriculture, and the focus of agriculture is on the production of food, without food, then the country will face a very serious crisis, that is, hunger.
In order to meet the needs of modernization, the mainland cannot only stay in the agricultural period, but must need industry as the backing to promote it.
However, in many countries, the agricultural period has not ended, relying on the income of agriculture or maintaining the operation of a country, this is the case of Syria, because Syria has unique natural conditions, so in the past Syria has always been a country that exports grain.
In particular, in the case of wheat, 5 million tons of wheat were harvested, and a large part of the grain was exported to other parts of the world, just to satisfy the needs of its own people from starvation.
But now that Syria is facing a dilemma of running out of food to eat, why is it so difficult to have a bumper harvest in the past?
One of the most critical reasons is that Syria has suffered from a serious war and conflict, which once made Syria, the "world's largest wheat field", now unrecognizable.
Because the "Syrian civil war" mentioned in the news is the main culprit that makes all this different, and the years of war have caused serious damage to many Syrian agricultural production facilities.
Syria's agricultural fields have been damaged by the war over the years, along with 40% of the agricultural infrastructure around it, resulting in the rudging of the most basic facilities such as ruts and irrigation systems, so that the level of agricultural production in Syria has changed from a rich to a desert, and it is impossible to produce food to sustain people's livelihoods.
Nowhere is this more revealing than in the case of wheat, which is Syria's main food crop and accounts for 40% of the country's total production, but in 2019 the country produced only 436,000 tonnes a year due to the knock-on effects of the war.
Compared to the previous days when agriculture was booming in Syria, the annual harvest of wheat reached a maximum of more than 12 million tons, but now the output has been reduced by nearly a third, which is a very frightening figure for the rural population of Syria and the Syrian people themselves.
So this is also the fundamental reason why Syria is facing a food crisis today, because there is no domestic food to solve the problem of "eating", and the price of food exported from other countries is high, and Syria cannot afford to buy food.
Food was plundered, and the U.S. military was full of evil.
In addition, there is also the situation that since the establishment of Syria, the people have never stored food?
Not even producing food at the time of the war in Syria?
These are extreme assumptions and unrealistic ideas, while also greatly ignoring the fact that the war in Syria was created from within, not by external forces.
So most of the people in Syria are innocent people, they are not involved in the war, so they are the ones who have to live, they don't depend on others for their survival, they just want to solve the problem of food and clothing by themselves.
But obviously things are not so simple, because the shadow of war surrounds the whole of Syria, but the biggest shadow is the United States, and the worse thing is that the US military's smuggling of grain has been exposed by Syrian farmers.
Because the United States controls the northern part of Syria, which is located in the richest grain-producing area in Syria, the Sinjarya and Hasakah regions in the northern region are occupied by the US military and the opposition forces it supports.
Some Syrian peasants also revealed to reporters the smuggling of grain, saying: "The grain in our village is no longer enough for people to eat, but the United States has asked us to sell it, so we can only sell it, but the price is very low after selling, and the salary of 300 yuan a month is not as good, and now our whole village is out of flour."
This kind of plundering of a country's grain and selling grain to foreign countries shows the bad true face of the United States, but it fully exposes that the United States has never wanted to help the Syrian people, only wants to continue to control Syria, and even becomes a "hostage" of the US military.
The Syrian peasants also seem to understand this, so they also appealed to the international community: "We need peace, we need reconstruction, but the United States does not want this, it controls the grain, it will not help us."
Syria is hungry and needs peace and reconstruction.
This is exactly the case, if the United States really wants to help Syria, instead of plundering Syria's resources, and directly use American money to buy grain and send it to Syria?
And for the United States, this expenditure is nothing at all, let alone a humanitarian issue.
Since the United States has chosen this path of plunder, it is no longer for the good of the Syrian people, but for some other purpose.
Although the international community is not very clear about Syria's plundering from the outside world, on the surface, Syria is facing hunger and needs humanitarian food support, which is an unshirkable responsibility and one of the most important things to maintain world peace.
Therefore, in the face of the current situation, the task of the international community is to be vigilant against the United States' manipulation and not to create new troubles for Syria out of nothing.
Time has proven that we should not use humanitarian aid to impose on others, as in the past, leading to an escalation of the civil war, in which the Syrian people will ultimately be the victims.
In the face of the predatory behavior of the United States, the international community should not sit idly by, but should legally condemn the actions of the US military and impose more punishment on those "rebels" supported by the US military in Syria.
Agriculture is the backbone of Syria's livelihood, and much of the lives of the people are closely related to it, so it is necessary to unite within the country to rebuild agricultural production capacity, which does not require US intervention and is not under the control of the United States.
This "care" of the United States for Syria is nothing more than to continue to manipulate Syria's fate and realize its own political ambitions, and the United States occupies an improper political, military, economic and humanitarian advantage over Syria, which is the biggest difficulty in Syria.
epilogue
If the United States really cares about humanitarianism, it should be like other countries to provide humanitarian assistance to the United Nations, instead of believing the nonsense of some "rebels".
Every country is independent, so it must also respect the sovereignty of Syria, and must not plunder the grain of other countries, let alone control the grain production areas in foreign territory, and at the same time, smuggling grain is also a violation of international law, so the international community should take more severe condemnation and stop this.
