Weather trends

01 National Weather

On July 3~8, the main rain belt in the central and eastern regions was located in the Huanghuai region of North China, and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River entered a rainfall intermittent period. On July 4~10, there will be continuous high temperature weather in Jiangnan, most of South China and other places, with a maximum temperature of 35~38 °C.

02 Shanghai weather

Controlled by the subtropical high pressure, Shanghai will have continuous high temperature weather in the coming week, with extreme maximum temperatures of up to 37~38 °C, reminding everyone to pay attention to heatstroke prevention and cooling. At the same time, it is prone to afternoon thundershowers, so everyone should pay attention to precautions.

03 Why is there rain after the plum blossom?

First, thermal conditions. In summer, the sun is abundant, and the closer you get to the ground in the afternoon, the higher the temperature, the cold at the top and the hot air at the bottom, and the hot air rises, which is easy to produce convection. Second, Shanghai's geography. Shanghai is surrounded by water on three sides, providing ample water vapor. The difference in heat between land and sea also exacerbates convection. This is why, despite the control of the subtropical high, Shanghai is still prone to localized thundershowers in the afternoon under the condition of sunny days.
