Cadillac celebrates the ESCALADE25 anniversary of its flagship SUV, the Escalade, with the launch of an Escalade Sport 25th Anniversary Edition in Japan. The car will be sold in limited quantities to 15 units in the Japanese market, priced at 18.1 million yen, or about 817,000 yuan. The exterior of the car is painted in a distinctive Galaxy Metallic Grey paint, with the Cadillac branding in a monochrome design, and a number of details such as the black grille mesh at the front, the window bezels, the "ESCALADE" on both sides of the rear and the torque logo are also black. In terms of body size, its length, width and height are 5400/2065/1930 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 3060 mm.
The interior of the Escalade 25th Anniversary Edition is made of leather from the Sport model, with plenty of natural ash wood accents, a 38-inch curved OLED screen and a rear entertainment system with two 12.6-inch high-definition touchscreen displays.
In terms of power, the Escalade 25th Anniversary Edition will be powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 engine with a maximum power of 306 kW and a peak torque of 624 Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The previous model of the car was officially introduced in the domestic market, and the price was more than one million. Now, the Escalade's most direct competitor to the 25th Anniversary Edition is the similarly priced Lincoln Navigator, a similarly priced American full-size SUV. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE ESCALADE AND THE LINCOLN NAVIGATOR ARE IN A "LOVE AND KILL" RELATIONSHIP, AND THE TWO MODELS HAVE BEEN COMPETING IN THE MARKET. THE RELEASE OF THE ESCALADE LIMITED EDITION MODEL ALSO HAPPENS TO BE CADILLAC'S TRIBUTE TO ITS OLD RIVAL.
