From June 26 to 28, 2024, Mobile World Congress (MWC Shanghai 2024) was successfully held, focusing on three key areas: "Beyond 5G", "AI Economy" and "Digital Intelligent Manufacturing".

China Mobile (600941. He Biao, general manager of SH), introduced at the conference that China Mobile will take the lead in launching 5G-A (5G-Advanced, enhanced 5G) construction in 2024, and will achieve 5G-A commercial deployment in 300 cities by the end of the year.

5G-A, also known as 5.5G, is a key stage in the evolution from 5G to 6G. Compared with 5G, 5G-A has significantly improved network capabilities, technical features, and application scenarios, and can more efficiently adapt to different application scenarios and service requirements.

In February this year, at the 2024 Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain, China Mobile announced that it will launch the world's largest 5G-A commercial deployment in more than 300 cities in 2024, continuously unleashing the potential of 5G and creating new value for 5G. At the conference, China Mobile also worked with global industry partners to release ten major 5G-A innovations, involving new intelligent and lightweight terminals, new integration of synaesthesia, new connection of space-ground integration, new immersive real-time experience, new business format of low-altitude coverage, new intelligent endogenous capabilities, new ecology of passive IoT, new benchmark for extreme performance, new endogenous services, and new architecture of synaesthesia computing intelligence.

It is reported that China Mobile's full coverage of 5G-A will be implemented in three phases, covering more than 300 cities by the end of 2024, entering the 5G-A scale development period in 2025, and striving to achieve full commercial use of 5G-A by the end of 2026.

On March 28, 2024, China Mobile launched the world's first 5G-A commercial deployment in Hangzhou, announcing the list of the first batch of 100 5G-A network commercial cities, and plans to expand to more than 300 cities across the country within the year, building the world's largest 5G-A commercial network.

In the A-share market, a number of listed companies have business layouts in the 5G-A field, and many of the company's products have been applied in the 5.5G field.

China Telecom (601728. SH) actively innovates in key directions of 5G-A, carries out carrier aggregation deployment, and promotes innovative applications of cross-domain joint dispatching of time, frequency, and airspace resources, greatly improving user experience. Completed the multi-frequency, multi-carrier, and multi-vendor scale tests of the Red Cap live network, and built demonstration applications in multiple industries such as steel, petrochemical, and ports, and promoted large-scale commercial deployment. The company took the lead in completing the test and verification of 5G NR NTN based on real satellites, and carried out pilot technologies such as low-altitude communication, synaesthesia, and NTN, so as to accelerate the commercial maturity of 5G-A.

In terms of technology, the company has made innovations and breakthroughs in core technologies such as chips, algorithms, and architectures, and the new generation of products has built a solid foundation for 5G-A capability enhancement and scenario expansion. In addition, the company has laid out six major 5G-A scenario technologies, and has released products to support multi-scenario technology verification. Chuling Information (300250.HK) SZ) disclosed on the interactive platform of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange that the company's edge data sensing focuses on network and service perception capabilities on 5G-A, and currently has system research and development work in combination with operators for 5G-A perception, such as positioning based on 5G-A synaesthesia technology, research and planning of upper-layer applications related to intrusion detection, and providing services and related products for quality and perception analysis of 5G-A networks and services.

SH) disclosed that at present, the company's R&D center has carried out relevant test and simulation technology research around the technical direction of 5G-A's space-ground integration and synaesthesia integration, and will continue to launch relevant test and simulation instruments and system solutions to provide customers with a laboratory simulation and verification environment.
