In that tragic history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, countless patriots shed their blood and sacrificed their lives in order to drive away the invaders. In China, heroes have nothing to do with height, no gender, no regard for origin, and nothing about age. For example, Pei Tianlai, the hero of the Eighth Route Army's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression to be talked about here, is a classic example.
At the age of 53, he joined the army, he was old and infirm, and in order to take care of him, his superiors specially equipped him with a donkey, hoping to save him from the pain of running around. However, what greatly shocked everyone was that at more than half a hundred years old, he not only did not drag his troops back, but also sniped more than 120 enemies by himself in a battle, setting a record for the largest number of snipers in the Eighth Route Army in Yidong.
Pei Tianlai did not leave any image
In 1890, Pei Tianlai was born in Chuanlin Village, Chengzhuang Town, Hebei Province, to an ordinary peasant family. My father was good at marksmanship, and when he arrived at the farm, he would carry a musket and carry a basket up the mountain. In that poor era, the birds and animals that my father brought back could go to the market to sell for money, and second, they could beat the teeth sacrifice to the family.
Pei Tianlai liked to follow his father up the mountain when he was young, and later when he was slightly older, he also began to learn from his father. The so-called Yangtze River back wave pushed the front wave, in just a few years, Pei Tianlai trained a shooting skill, became a famous sharpshooter in the village. The point is that his skill can not only fight birds and beasts, but also scare bandits and protect the peace of one side.
At that time, the peasants were all living a life of relying on the heavenly lord to "appreciate food and eat", and once they encountered a drought and flood, the crops could not be harvested, and the livelihood of the family was lost. In 1929, Chengzhuang Town encountered a bad harvest due to weather. So forced to make a living, Pei Tianlai went to the home of a rich man in the neighboring village of Liu Zhuang as a nursing home.
The so-called tree big trick, not long after Pei Tian came to work as a nursing home, he encountered bandits who came to rob money. Although the rich man often bullied the poor, Pei Tianlai was more unaccustomed to this kind of behavior than robbery, so he helped. With accurate marksmanship, the bandits were frightened to snatch the door and come out. Since then, Pei Tianlai's fame has become even louder.
When the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Pei Tianlai also had the ambition to serve the country, but he suffered from the lack of opportunities and has been stranded. Later, coincidentally, he met Li Yuxi in Liu Zhuang, and although the two had a 15-year age difference, they were like-minded. So the two worshipped, and from then on they wanted to be called brothers. In fact, at that time, Li Yuxi had already thrown himself into the revolution, but Pei Tianlai did not know.
After the July 7 Incident, Li Yuxi changed his name to Liu Shouren and threw himself into the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement, joining the Communist Party of China in October of the same year. On the eve of the Spring Festival in 1943, Liu Shouren returned home and went to Pei Tian's home. First, he ran outside and always remembered this old brother, and second, he also knew that he had a heart to serve the country, so he wanted to mobilize him to join the revolution.
The brothers talked a lot about picking up the lamp, but when Liu Shouren first saw Pei Tianlai, he hesitated again. Because Pei Tianlai at that time had been ill for some time, he was afraid that his brother's body would not be able to eat. Pei Tianlai heard the hint in Liu Shouren's long sigh from time to time, and asked him if he had been worried lately?
After listening to Liu Shouren's concerns, Pei Tianlai laughed and bluntly said that the brothers thought too much. If he really had the opportunity to participate in the revolution, he would certainly be obliged. So in the spring of 1943, a special "recruit" was added to the revolutionary ranks in yidong, a recruit soldier who was already 53 years old at the time.
Joining the army to fight inevitably marched day and night, going up and down the mountain and down the river, so taking into account that Pei Tianlai was old and sick, the leader of the unit also specially equipped him with a donkey, hoping that he would be less apologetic. However, even if everyone took good care of Pei Tianlai, he should do the same thing, and the tasks assigned by his superiors were all done with all their might, especially the marksmanship was still so accurate.
In the siege battles in which our army attacked the city many times and suffered from the suppression of Japanese fire in the bunkers, Pei Tianlai was always able to eliminate the enemy machine gunners with a few bullets. So in order to better play his shooting ability, the troops specially equipped him with a "Ying Seven Seven".
On October 8, 1943, Pei Tianlai's local armed forces began to ambush the Japanese puppet army at Sun Jiafangzi. Since the enemy's weapons and equipment are sufficient, if we want our army not to suffer losses, the first task is to solve the enemy's machine gun firepower. There was no doubt that such a heavy responsibility was entrusted to Pei Tianlai.
The commanders and fighters made a detailed plan before the battle, Pei Tianlai was responsible for eliminating the enemy's light and heavy machine guns, and there would also be other firepower to cover his safety. As soon as the battle began, Pei Tianlai, under the cover of his comrades-in-arms, sneaked to the side of the enemy position, only to hear a few successive gunshots, and the enemy machine gunners were muted.
In this way, Pei Tianlai relied on his accurate shooting ability every time and made a good start for every battle of the troops.
In the "County Chronicle" of Hebei Leting, Pei Tianlai is described as follows: Among the Eighth Route Army in Eastern Hebei, the hero who was the most snipe of the enemy was the soldier!
However, the many changes to the position for a long time also made Pei Tianlai's body very overwhelmed, coupled with the old disease, it recurred from time to time. In the summer of 1945, his physical condition was particularly poor, and the army placed him in Laoting County to recuperate. But no one expected that the next day the pseudo-Mongol team supported by the Japanese army surrounded the village, that is, they had suffered Pei Tianlai's losses in the battle, and they rushed to him.
Due to the tight time constraints, the troops had no chance to move them out. The villagers knew that Pei Tianlai was a good person, so they let the enemy whip himself, always saying "I don't know." However, as a revolutionary soldier, Pei Tianlai could not accept that the masses were injured for him. Therefore, when several people were pushed into the pit and their bodies were half buried, he broke free of the hands of the villagers who were dragging him around him, just to prevent him from standing up.
"Stop! Let go of them, I am the Pei Tianlai you are looking for! The enemy was instantly excited and immediately tied him up. It was difficult to grasp a guerrilla, and the enemy naturally did not give up, so he wanted to get information from his mouth. But no matter how exhausted the enemy's soft and hard plans, Pei Tianlai was still not humble.
Finally, the enemy lost patience and said, "If you don't say anything more, there is only one way to die."
"Since I came in, I didn't want to get out alive, I wanted to kill or kill and come straight!"
In the end, the enemy killed him under the bridge outside Leting City, and the 55-year-old bravely rebelled!
