The overall project of the Macao HZMB has been basically completed, and the follow-up commissioning, acceptance and handover work is being carried out in an orderly manner. The HZMB is expected to be ready for traffic in the third quarter of this year, which will effectively alleviate the traffic pressure on the existing three HZMBs, enhance the traffic capacity between the Macao Peninsula and Taipa and Coloane, and meet the traffic demand of the development of New Town Reclamation Area A (East-2).
From April to June this year, a number of rainstorms persisted, during which a total of 20 yellow/red/black rainstorm warning signals were issued, an increase of 30% over the same period last year. The asphalt pavement of the bridge deck covers an area of 117,000 square meters, which was originally planned to be completed in 105 days, but with the efforts of the construction team day and night, the asphalt pavement work was finally completed in 102 days. The bridge protection facilities under the bridge are in the final stages and are expected to be completed in July, with the removal of the temporary construction platform and temporary trestle under the bridge.
