But in fact, the two of them have completely different functions, and if they get it wrong, it will have a bad impact on the engine or even pull the cylinder.
Air cleaner and air conditioning filter are both used to filter air, but the air filter is installed at the engine intake, which has a higher manufacturing process and better filtration effect on the air. Its function is to ensure that the air sucked into the combustion chamber of the engine is clean, and that no insects, dust, or foreign objects are sucked in. Once there is a problem with the filtration effect of this filter element, then the first thing is that the throttle valve is prone to carbon deposit, and there is a phenomenon of high fuel consumption and weak power. In severe cases, it may even cause the engine to inhale foreign bodies, which directly causes the engine to pull the cylinder.
Due to the paved roads everywhere now, the environment in which we use our cars is relatively good, and we rarely have access to the dusty field, and there are relatively few dust and other things that can be sucked in by the engine. Therefore, the air filter element of our car does not need to be replaced every time it is maintained, and generally the outside repair shops are directly taken out and blown clean with an air gun to continue to use. If it is found that it has been used for too long during the blowing process, or the filtration effect is not good, then the repair shop will ask us to replace it.
Generally speaking, the replacement cycle of the air filter element in the 4S store is 10,000 to 15,000 kilometers, that is, we need to replace the air filter once when we go back for maintenance about 3 times. But in fact, we now have less dust in the car environment, basically you can use it for 30,000 kilometers and then change it, my own car is basically not fixed replacement, my standard for replacing the air filter element is that it looks dirty or not, whether the air gun can be blown clean, if not, directly change.
The air conditioning filter is actually relatively simple, because the air conditioning filter filters the air entering the car, and when we use the external circulation, we prevent the air outside the car from entering the car with dust and other things and polluting the air in the car. Even if its filtration effect is not good, it doesn't matter if you don't change it, it won't have any adverse effects on our car. At most, the filter element is not good, and after a long time, you will see a layer of ash on the interior of the central control, but we will wipe the ash clean when we wash the car. Like my own car when I bought it back, the previous owner has not changed it for a long time, I got my hands on it for a year and only found that it was dirty, but I haven't changed it yet, and the next time I maintain it, I can change it to a cheap one.
There is no fixed standard for replacing the air conditioner filter, and you can replace it when you want to. But the price of this thing in the market is uneven, some sell for more than 10 yuan, and some can even sell for more than 120 yuan. Don't be superstitious about what activated carbon filtration effect is better or something, you can pick a cheap one to use, it's a big deal to change it several times a year, and the expensive one is a waste of money.
