Liu Yijun: It's very strange, I have acted for so many years, and there are many roles of good people, but in the past two years, a large number of projects still want me to play the villain, and the same is true at the beginning of "Sweeping Black Storm", let me see the villain role. But after I read the project book and the story outline, I said to my agent, "I want to play He Yong." "It's not easy to win this role, so I also cherish it, in order to play He Yong well, I did a lot of desk work: checking cases on the Internet, finding oral records of many cases, and training myself to read the text and video materials and repeat it again." Before filming began, the film side arranged for several of our leading actors to record a special program on anti-gang crime and anti-evil, and had the opportunity to view the video materials of many front-line case-handling cadres and policemen, and did some exchanges with them, which was very touched.
Beijing News: From the perspective of shaping characters, what do you think is the biggest feature of He Yong?
Liu Yijun: He Yong is a policeman sent from above to be responsible for the special task of sweeping away organized crime, and his biggest characteristic is that he cannot trust anyone. In this process, it is necessary to develop one's own comrades-in-arms, but also to think about whether comrades-in-arms have other hidden feelings. I describe him as a "leopard" character, complex and multi-faceted, with a lot of room for acting. The audience may think that He Yong is fierce, but he is facing a powerful and complex criminal and evil force, if it is too weak, it will not work.

Beijing News: What is the most difficult thing about this play for you?
Liu Yijun: It is most difficult to hope that the audience can have a real sense of substitution. He Yong is not a symbolic policeman, to show the complexity and three-dimensional sense of this role, let the audience be substituted into the plot with He Yong's case handling process, and feel the difficulties of the anti-black crime and the various developments of events in the play, which is not easy and most attractive. In particular, He Yong has a lot of interrogation scenes, the amount of lines is very large, each scene is a large section of professional content, and in the face of different interrogation objects, there are different ways and methods, each design can not be the same, to make the audience not feel dogmatic, this is more difficult.
Beijing News: How does an absolutely positive character make the role particularly rich and three-dimensional?
Liu Yijun: I don't deliberately distinguish whether the role is "good" or "bad", and I can't play good for "good" or deliberately act bad for "bad". The most important thing as an actor is to truly restore this person. In the prescribed scenario, among the prescribed actions that this character should complete, what his truest emotions and reactions should be, are presented correctly. After playing so many complicated characters, I still like to let the audience have a feeling of not being able to figure it out, everything is possible. Grasp each action, including subtle emotional changes, this role will be more humane, more rich and three-dimensional.

Liu Yijun: What impressed me more was the scene where he met Li Chengyang again after fourteen years, played by Sun Honglei. For He Yong, this scene is not only the reunion of old classmates for a long time, but also the strangeness, doubt, regret and examination of classmates who may be suspected of crimes. Once a comrade-in-arms and classmate, but now it is possible to be an enemy.
