The remaining 2 places will be decided between a total of 5 teams from Group A and Group D:

Group A: India (5 points, goal difference -3), Afghanistan (5 points, goal difference -10), Kuwait (4 points, goal difference -1)

Group D: Kyrgyzstan 10 points (goal difference +6), Malaysia 10 points (goal difference 0)

India will travel to early qualifiers Qatar later tonight, while Kuwait host Afghanistan.

The 18 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 6 teams and play home and away matches. The top two teams from the 3 groups will get a ticket to the World Cup! The 3 third- and fourth-place teams from the group, a total of 6 teams enter the fourth stage of the competition.

The six teams that advance to Stage 4 will be divided into two groups of three teams each for a single round-robin match. The winners of the 2 groups receive a ticket to the World Cup.
