Live broadcast on June 11th The top 36 of the Asian region of the World Preliminary Championship has now entered the final stage, and 16 teams have confirmed their advance to the top 18 stage, leaving only 2 seats to be determined.
Round of 18 qualifiers: China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Palestine, North Korea, Indonesia.
The remaining 2 places will be decided between a total of 5 teams from Group A and Group D:
Group A: India (5 points, goal difference -3), Afghanistan (5 points, goal difference -10), Kuwait (4 points, goal difference -1)
Group D: Kyrgyzstan 10 points (goal difference +6), Malaysia 10 points (goal difference 0)
India will travel to early qualifiers Qatar later tonight, while Kuwait host Afghanistan.
Malaysia's round of 36 matches have been played in full, while Kyrgyzstan will travel to Oman later in the day.
The 18 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 6 teams and play home and away matches. The top two teams from the 3 groups will get a ticket to the World Cup! The 3 third- and fourth-place teams from the group, a total of 6 teams enter the fourth stage of the competition.
The six teams that advance to Stage 4 will be divided into two groups of three teams each for a single round-robin match. The winners of the 2 groups receive a ticket to the World Cup. The runners-up from the two groups will play a play-off, with the winner of the tournament from the other continents determining the final World Cup spot.
