According to the official statement, BYD passenger car sales in May this year totaled 330488 units, and the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles have exceeded 7.6 million, according to this rate of development, at the end of June or early July, the 8 million new energy models will be able to complete the assembly line.
Among them, the sales volume of plug-in hybrid models in May was 184093, with a total of 685,960 units throughout the year; The sales volume of pure electric models was 146395 units, and the cumulative sales volume of the whole year was 580974 units. Export sales in May were 37,499 units, and the total export volume for the year was 176409 units.
In terms of sub-brands, Dynasty + Ocean sold 315227 units in May, 12,223 units of the Denza brand, 2,430 units of the Formula Leopard brand, and 608 units of the Yangwang brand.
Specific to the model, the dynasty network Qin family (including Qin PLUS and Qin L) sales in May was 57,072 units, the annual cumulative sales of 186769 units, high cost performance is the biggest feature of the Qin family, hot sales are reasonable, with the listing of Qin L, the sales of the Qin family in June is expected to hit a new high.
The sales volume of the Han family in May was 22,003 units, and the cumulative annual sales reached 82,304 units.
The sales volume of the Tang family in May was 15,478 units, and the cumulative annual sales volume was 54,301 units.
The sales volume of the Song family (including Song Pro and Song L) in May was 37,267 units, and the cumulative annual sales volume was 157216 units.
The sales volume of the Yuan family (including Yuan UP and Yuan PLUS) in the month was 40,231 units, and the annual cumulative sales volume was 134392 units.
In terms of ocean network, the sales of the two models of Seagull and Dolphin were 35,370 and 10,624 respectively, and the cumulative annual sales were 154971 and 74,369, and the sales of Seagull did not fluctuate too significantly, but the decline in sales of Dolphin was still relatively obvious, after all, a few months ago, there was still a performance of more than 30,000 units in a single month, and with the increasing number of competitors, Dolphin did feel the pressure of competition.
The sales of the seal family (including the Seal EV, Seal DM-i and Seal 06) in May were 14,311 units, and the cumulative annual sales were 55,817 units.
The newly launched Hiace 07 performed well, with sales reaching 3,400 units in the first month, and with the subsequent increase in production capacity, it should be able to have the strength to sell more than 10,000 units per month.
As the sister car of Qin PLUS DM-i, the destroyer 05 sold 32,883 units in May, and 79,800 yuan is its biggest competitiveness, with annual cumulative sales reaching 105207 units, becoming a major seller of the ocean network.
Corvette 07 even after the launch of the Glory version did not stop the downward trend, sales in May were only 782 units, and the cumulative annual sales were only 5827 units, which is a product similar in size to Tang, but with a 5-seat layout, the space performance has an advantage over Song PLUS DM-i, and the problem may still be in terms of pricing.
The sales volume of the Song PLUS family in May was 44,907 units, and the cumulative annual sales volume was 179095 units, which is the best-selling model of the ocean network, and the sales volume is second only to the Qin family in the entire BYD system.
In terms of the DENZA brand, DENZA D9 is still a major salesman, with sales of 10,158 units in May and a cumulative annual sales volume of 42,945 units, and the launch of the 2024 model has brought DENZA D9 back to the monthly sales club of 10,000 units, and its product strength has been recognized. Sales of the Denza N7 have also gradually recovered after the facelift, with 2,031 units sold in May, higher than the cumulative sales in the previous four months. The Denza N8 is still a relatively dismal performance, with sales of 34 units in May and a cumulative annual sales of only 469 units.
The only model currently on sale in the Yangwang brand is Yangwang U8, so the sales of 608 units are contributed by Yangwang U8, with a cumulative annual sales volume of 5082 units, as a domestic new energy vehicle priced at more than one million and needs to pay the purchase tax in full, such sales really can't find anything worth complaining about, and it has stood firm in the million-level market.
The Formula Leopard brand is only selling a model Leopard 5, with sales of 2,430 units in May and a cumulative annual sales volume of 15,603 units, which is not bad, but it is indeed not outstanding, after all, the monthly sales volume at the beginning of the listing can exceed 5,000 units, and there is already a gradual downward trend.
On the whole, BYD's performance in May can be called excellent, with the listing of Qin L and Seal 06, the price from 99,800 yuan can be described as lethal, which will certainly affect the sales of BYD's existing models, but listen to Yang can also seize more share in the market, help BYD's sales break through the 350,000 mark as soon as possible, and move towards the 400,000 mark, wait and see.
