Fast Technology reported on May 22 that, according to media reports, the 2025 Honda Civic was officially released, and its exterior design has been slightly adjusted, but the real highlight is the new hybrid system.

It is reported that the new Civic will be offered in two hybrid versions: a sports hybrid version and a top-of-the-line sports touring hybrid version.

While Honda has yet to release the specifics of the hybrid system, it has revealed that it consists of a dual-electric motor and a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with a combined output of 200 hp and 315 Nm of torque.

This power parameter even surpasses that of the new Civic Si model, which is why Honda claims it to be the most powerful non-Type-R Civic model in history.

The hybrid will replace the current 1.5-liter turbocharged model, and will deliver more performance and better fuel economy, with an estimated combined fuel consumption of nearly 50 mpg (about 5.65 liters per 100 kilometers), far exceeding the current Civic's highest fuel efficiency model.

In addition, the hybrid version will also offer a four-stage kinetic energy recovery system and hybrid-optimized suspension tuning to improve ride quality and reduce noise, with the best NVH performance in the entire Civic.

On the outside, the lower front bumper of the new Civic has been replaced with narrow vertical vents, and the grille has also been slightly enlarged.

The hybrid variant gets body-coloured headlamp trim and lip spoiler, while all taillights come in a darker blacked-out colourway.

The new car is also available in a number of new exterior colours, including Starlight Silver Metallic, City Grey Pearl, Blue Lagoon Pearl and Dune Pearl.

Inside, the hybrid variant gets grey tones, while the top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid gets leather seats, a 12-speaker audio system, a larger 9-inch infotainment screen, and for the first time, a Google in-car system.
