"No home charging, not pure electricity; If you want to be perfect, choose hybrid", I believe many people have heard such a saying.
However, it's 2024, is this statement still reliable?
After all, whether it is the range, charging speed, or infrastructure, pure electric vehicles have made great progress - can the perspective of the past still adapt to the current changes?
The answer is definitely not adaptable, because the actual situation has changed!
In this regard, an old driver who has bought a tram for 5 years shared his views and emphasized that many people have gone into misunderstandings.
Why? First of all, it is necessary to understand the current status of pure electric vehicles.
01 The current status of pure electric vehicles
When it comes to pure electric vehicles, an unavoidable brand must belong to Tesla.
It is said that Tesla is very powerful, but many people don't know that when the earliest Tesla was first born, the range level was only 260 kilometers.
At this level, it can't catch up with the current extended-range cars - not to mention running long distances, even city travel is enough.
However, this year, everything has changed dramatically.
First of all, compared with the charging power of 50-60kWh in the past, the maximum charging power of today's pure electric vehicles has come to 500kWh.
In other words, if conditions permit, 12 minutes can supplement the range of 500 kilometers.
Therefore, don't talk about pure electric energy supplementation for long-distance running - with this energy replenishment efficiency, as long as it is not in a hurry, the problem of running long-distance will not be particularly big.
The only thing to consider is staggered peak travel, or the problem of finding an idle charging pile.
Secondly, the pure electric range has also made a leap.
For example, on April 25, at the CATL passenger car new product launch conference, Gao Huan, CTO of the passenger car division, announced their Shenxing PLUS battery.
The battery has an all-electric range of up to 1,000 kilometers and has a fast charging capacity of 600 kilometers after 10 minutes of charging.
The key is not the problem of CATL, for example, Weilan New Energy and Qingtao Technology have released their own semi-solid-state batteries, which have a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.
Among them, the semi-solid-state battery of Weilan New Energy is even more powerful, combined with Weilai ET7, in real road conditions, it even ran 1046 kilometers.
In view of the above circumstances, the statement "no home charging, not pure electricity" is definitely not true.
After all, the battery life is very long, and the charging speed is still fast - it's not a problem to go out and charge once in a while.
After talking about pure electric vehicles, let's talk about the current state of hybrid vehicles.
02 The current state of hybrid vehicles
When it comes to hybrid vehicles, many people may not know that they have a history of more than 100 years.
And compared to the extended range, this is a car with double advantages, which can be driven by electric power and can be operated by burning oil - and the pure electric drive mode of extended range is completely different.
It is also for this reason that in the low-end and mid-range models, the advantages of hybrid cars are particularly obvious: in hybrid mode, fuel consumption can be reduced to 3 liters per 100 kilometers.
Relying on such energy consumption, car companies like BYD have almost killed oil car models in the 100,000-level passenger car market!
Like the previous Lei Ling, Xuanyi, and Corolla, they are almost god-like existences on the sales list, but now they are all left behind by models such as Qin Plus, Song Pro, and Song Plus.
But while hybrids are so good, they're also more complex, with both fuel and electric systems – putting more pressure on maintenance costs.
After all, neither aspect can be ignored.
So with all that said, how do you choose? Should ordinary people choose "hybrid" or "pure electric"?
03 How to choose?
According to the old driver, this problem cannot be generalized, and you must consider your own budget and real scenarios.
To put it bluntly, if you are more in pursuit of pure electric experience, enjoy smooth acceleration and deceleration, and a quieter interior environment, then pure electric is definitely more suitable.
But in the process, you have to consider your own time cost, as well as the efficiency of long-distance travel - if you are in a hurry, pure electric may not be the best choice.
After all, although the current charging speed is very fast, the construction of supercharging piles still needs time to improve, which is a problem that cannot be ignored.
In addition, the pure electric model equipped with 800V high-voltage charging and longer battery life is basically priced at more than 250,000 yuan.
If there is no lack of funds, the shortcomings of low-end trams will often be more obvious.
On the other hand, if you're out and about, with more uncertainty, hybrid cars tend to have a better experience.
Although there are already 3 million charging piles in the country, many areas still have no coverage, or there are very few charging piles.
Take my friend as an example, I go back to my hometown several times a year, and the nearest charging pile is 20 kilometers away - the key is not necessarily to charge!
In this case, it is definitely more suitable for hybrid cars.
And compared with pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles are also more selective, with 7-80,000 models and hundreds of thousands.
The only drawback is that it costs more than a pure electric car of the same price.
After all, no matter how cheap the refueling is, it can't catch up with the electricity, and the simultaneous maintenance of the two systems will not be a small amount of money.
In general, when the time comes to 2024, whether it is "hybrid" or "pure electric", there have been many changes, don't be fooled by stereotypes.
But no matter how it changes, one thing remains the same: that is, choose the right vehicle according to your own needs.
Don't think that a certain model is perfect, imagine too much of a good, and the result is often a piece of chicken feathers.
