On 30 May 2017, a casino in Singapore filed a lawsuit against Kung Linghui, alleging that he owed about S$450,000 in gambling debts. Although Kong Linghui responded quickly, insisting that he was not involved in gambling activities, but only assisted relatives and friends to obtain chips and left relevant records, the incident still had a big impact on his coaching career.
