Washing treatment is an indispensable style treatment process in the finishing process of denim fabrics, which includes two kinds of physical methods and chemical methods. Usually used in denim clothing washing methods are: rinsing, enzyme washing, snowflake washing, sand washing, general washing, stone washing, etc., after washing treatment, the surface of denim fabric appears "peach skin", the color becomes lighter, the feel is softer, and the wearing is comfortable and beautiful.
However, after some denim fabrics are treated with chemical washing, the breaking strength of warp and weft yarns may decrease, resulting in the strength of the fabric not meeting the standard, which affects the service life of the fabric product. Taking the four more common washing processes of general washing, snowflake washing, enzyme washing and rinsing as examples, their strong effects on denim fabrics are as follows:
1) General washing
General washing is a relatively simple and easy-to-operate treatment method in the washing process, which relies on the rotation of the washing machine to make the detergent and softener fully contact with the fabric, thereby affecting the strength of the fabric.
2) Snowflake wash
The small pebbles soaked with potassium permanganate rub against each other with the fabric, and the friction between the stones and the fabric damages the warp and weft yarn strength of the fabric, and the strength decreases.
3) Enzymatic washing
Most of the enzymes used in enzyme washing are cellulases, which can degrade the fiber structure, and due to the friction of the fabric and the chemical action of the enzyme, the fiber falls off, and the breaking strength of the fabric is also reduced.
4）漂洗
Rinsing requires a period of time after heating and adding bleach, which reduces the breaking strength of the warp and weft yarns of the fabric.
