According to Article 257 of the new Coast Guard Regulations, the China Coast Guard has the right to interrogate any foreigner suspected of endangering China's security and rights and interests, undermining public order, or engaging in some illegal crimes. If suspicion cannot be ruled out, the CCG only needs to obtain the consent of the coast guard to arrest and detain him immediately.
Generally speaking, the detention period will not exceed one month, but if the situation is more complicated, it can be extended to two months after being approved.
