Yao Jinhai: Small bonsai, big industry, driving farmers to get rich Road Huadu District CPPCC member Yao Jinhai, is a native of Ruiling Village, Chixiao Town, and is currently the chairman of Guangzhou Huadu Jinxing Horticulture Co., Ltd., the president of Huadu District Bonsai Association, and the honorary president of Guangdong Bonsai Association. Over the years, Yao Jinhai has always been rooted in the countryside, committed to the inheritance and development of bonsai art, and contributed his due strength to the rapid development of rural revitalization and the poverty alleviation of local villagers, and has won praise from all walks of life. In 2009, he was awarded the title of Guangzhou Model Worker, in 2010, he was awarded the title of Advanced Individual of Independent Entrepreneurship in Guangzhou, in April 2016, he was awarded the title of Lingnan Bonsai Inheritor of Guangzhou Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage, and in 2022, he was awarded the title of Rural Native Expert of Guangdong Province and "Good Villager of Yangcheng" in Guangzhou.
In January 1995, Yao Jinhai founded Huadu Jinxing Horticulture Co., Ltd., after nearly 30 years of hard work, the company from the establishment of 3 acres of site, to now has 50 acres of export exhibition field, 100 acres of processing plant and 650 acres of production field scale, the company's business scope involves bonsai, flowers and green seedlings production and sales and landscaping projects. The company produces more than 30 varieties of bonsai and greening seedlings, with an annual output value of nearly 50 million yuan, annual sales of 30 million yuan, and an annual export of more than 1.5 million bonsai products, which are exported to Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Europe and the United States and other countries.
With the continuous development and growth of the company, Yao Jinhai does not forget the villagers. In order to help the villagers get rich, Yao Jinhai adopts the model of company + base + farmers to help, with the company as the sales leader, every year according to the sales situation of the market, guide farmers to arrange production in a planned way, which not only ensures the supply of goods, but also can better drive the bonsai production of surrounding farmers, promote the development of seedlings and bonsai industry, and drive the villagers to get rid of poverty and become rich. As the president of the Huadu Bonsai Association, Yao Jinhai has organized nearly 200 farmers to participate in bonsai cultivation technology training to improve the technical level of villagers planting bonsai. It has organized members of the Bonsai Association to participate in large-scale bonsai exhibitions and technical exchanges for many times, and has used the company as a rural labor training base in Chini Town to promote the solution of farmers' employment problems.
Driven by Yao Jinhai, more than 3,000 farmers in more than 10 villages such as Ruiling planted bonsai seedlings, with a planting area of more than 50,000 mu, and many farmers became local wealthy households. Nowadays, Ruiling Village has paved hard-bottomed roads everywhere, the public security environment is good, merchants from all over the country have come one after another, and the bonsai business is booming.
Yao Jinhai:
We have helped hundreds of farmers to increase their profits, and for some poor households, we provide seedlings and fertilizers, which they plant, and then we buy and process them for export. According to statistics, the company has driven the surrounding farmers to plant more than 20,000 acres of bonsai and green seedlings of about 30,000 acres, which has solved the problem of income sources for many rural laborers. The output efficiency of land has increased greatly, and the output value per mu has risen from the original 1,500 yuan to more than 20,000 yuan now.
Over the years, Yao Jinhai has been enthusiastic about various social welfare undertakings, and has enthusiastically donated money and materials in the Wenchuan earthquake, southwest drought, Yushu earthquake, Yangdong poverty alleviation, epidemic prevention and control, and education public welfare undertakings; At the same time, Yao Jinhai often writes proposals based on what he has seen and heard, from the aspects of agricultural development, improvement of transportation conditions, inheritance and development of bonsai, and utilization of brand resources, to fulfill the duties of the committee members.
Yao Jinhai said that the next step is to participate in more urban greening and social welfare undertakings, and plans to build a more bonsai landscape light characteristics of the park in Chixiao, which is a collection of bonsai history, natural scenery, leisure and entertainment, environmental protection and other standardized characteristics of the sightseeing park, in order to establish the image of Chini bonsai and expand its popularity.
"We improve the grade of bonsai and sell bonsai to all parts of the country, and even to every corner of the world, so that everyone at home and abroad can plant our Huadu Ruiling bonsai." Yao Jinhai told reporters with confidence.
