On May 16, Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, met with the heads of the Turkish-China Friendship Association, the Marmara Foundation for Strategic and Social Research, the Turkish Space Summer Camp, the Turkish-Chinese Business Promotion Friendship Association, and the Middle East Technical University, which came to China to attend the Second China-Turkey People-to-People Friendship Dialogue.
Yang Wanming spoke positively of China-Turkey relations and happily recalled his recent visit to Turkey, saying that China and Turkey are both important emerging market countries, large developing countries, G20 members, and important partners in the Belt and Road Initiative. The Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attaches great importance to the development of relations with Turkey, and is willing to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state at the non-governmental level, promote people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation, and constantly enrich the content of the strategic cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Turkey said that Turkey and China are located at the eastern and western ends of Asia and share a wide range of common languages and interests. Turkey is one of the first countries to support China's Belt and Road Initiative, and the cooperation between the two sides has good momentum and great potential. Turkey is willing to work with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to consolidate the existing cooperation mechanism, promote exchanges and cooperation in youth, culture, academia, local and other fields, and contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
The second China-Turkey People-to-People Friendship and Cooperation Dialogue will be held in Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province on May 17, hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organized by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Xianyang Municipal People's Government.
