Recently, the children of Yuyuan Road No. 1 Kindergarten came to the Huazheng Trail on the bank of Suzhou Creek to carry out a colorful and interesting practical experience activity outside the park, showing everyone how they explore the real and extensive "nature and big society".
With the bright sunshine, the exploration journey of the Yuyi practice team on the Huazheng Trail officially began! Some children hold binoculars and carefully observe and record the strange appearance of the birds; "Ready—run!" Some children are preparing for a marathon. Picking up the paintbrush, the children in the picture book group are checking in to the Pig Garden; "It's beautiful!" The children of the construction team were deeply attracted by the red wall bricks and tiles of Huazheng, and they turned the century-old history of the old house into QR codes to introduce to passers-by.
In this activity, Yuyi Kindergarten actively linked with East China University of Political Science and Law to make full use of the rich and diverse natural ecological resources and humanistic connotation resources contained in the Huazheng Trail, so that children can "immerse" explore the world, feel the greatness of nature, see the breadth of society, and appreciate the thickness of urban history.
On the trail, a team of children looking for "treasures" with self-made "treasure maps" let out bursts of laughter, which was quite eye-catching. According to the teacher of Yuyi Kindergarten, this is the treasure map of the scavenger hunt "Treasure Map in the Back Garden", which originated from the surprise discovery of the children after strolling on the Huazheng Trail. "Red brick walls", "very old, thick and tall trees", "flowers in colorful clothes", "birds flying on the Suzhou Creek", ...... Huazheng Trail is full of "treasures".
"After we contacted the professionals of Huazheng to lead the children to explain on the spot, the children became more interested in the architecture and history of Huazheng." The teacher who led the activity said, "They collected information about the 'treasure map', looked for different 'treasures' of Huazheng, and tried to take pictures from multiple angles to make a digital 'treasure map'. ”
It is reported that Yuyi Kindergarten has been actively developing and using resources outside the park for a long time. In 2023, the kindergarten will move the annual book rafting event out of the campus and open an art exhibition on Yuyuan Road, which has a strong artistic atmosphere; In the science and technology carnival activities, the kindergarten cooperated with Liu Haisu Art Museum to carry out the "Magical Science and Technology Carnival" with the theme of "Enjoy Science and Technology, Smart Life". These out-of-kindergarten resources not only serve the overall design of the curriculum content, but also meet the individual needs of the class-based curriculum, and transform them into activity scenarios that support children's meaningful learning.
At the project exchange meeting (Changning Session) of "Rich Growth Experience, Research on Practical Experience Activities inside and outside the Park" hosted by Yuyi Kindergarten, Jin Ying, the principal of the kindergarten, showed everyone the children's exploration and practice on the Huazheng Trail. She said that based on Mr. Chen Heqin's curriculum theory that "nature and society are living teaching materials", Yuyi Kindergarten will continue to carry out home-school-community linkage, and use the resources within three kilometers outside the park to create a "happy and lively" curriculum system to enrich children's growth experience.
