Recently, Foshan Meitao Bay and Guangzhou Design Week jointly launched the project "Art from Meitao Bay - 2024 Meitao Bay Urban Public Art Season", aiming to present the value consensus of the future city, art and social ecology in the construction of Meitao Bay with the power of art and creativity, hoping to effectively accumulate the normalized, sustainable and self-renewing contemporary cultural value gravitational force that belongs to Meitao Bay.

The 2024 Mei Tao Bay Urban Public Art Season will be themed "Art from Mei Tao Bay", and will specially plan the "Youth Competition Unit", which will be open to students majoring in design, architecture, art and other related majors in colleges and universities across the country from now on.

Youth Competition Call for Papers: China Ceramic City

Design principles

1) The installation artwork conforms to the natural and cultural customs of Meitao Bay, and the form is beautiful;

2) Be conceptually avant-garde, and be able to fully express the intrinsic relationship between artistic creation and local humanities and urban fabric;

3) It has considerable landing, controllable effect, reasonable cost and easy maintenance.

Outcome requirements

1) A short concept statement (no more than 300 words);

2) Renderings (clear and objective, not exaggerated);

3) Other professional design drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections, local sample diagrams, etc.), the form of expression is not limited;

4) Cost estimation table (need to reflect the specific materials and approximate quantity);

5) A program presentation document with the above content and no more than 15 pages, with a ratio of 16:9, in PDF format;

6) There shall be no information reflecting the identity of the designer on the scheme and drawing, and if it appears, the applicant will be disqualified.

7) The image accuracy is not less than 300dpi.

1) Judges: Organizing Committee of the Art Season

2) Selection process: After the deadline for submissions, the judges will take turns to review the submission proposals and score them independently, and the organizing committee will summarize the final scores, and the works with higher scores at each point will pass the preliminary review and be shortlisted for the final review. After the works are shortlisted, the organizing committee will assign an instructor to guide the deepening of the works.

3) Selection Objective: 7 shortlisted proposals will be selected.

Final

1) Composition of the judges:

There are 4-6 judges from government representatives, industry leaders, college teachers, and local experts

2) Selection process:

Each shortlisted group will report online on the deepening plan (8 minutes for each group), and after the report of all the shortlisted groups is completed, the judges' representatives will make instant comments, and the judges will score online after the comments, and the organizing committee will summarize the final scores, and determine the first, second and third prizes according to the scores from high to low.

2) The winning teams and projects will be publicly announced and commended on the platform of this year's art season;

4) All members of the winning team will be awarded a certificate of honor;

1) The object of this call for papers is students majoring in design, architecture, art and other related majors in colleges and universities (undergraduate and graduate students are not limited), in principle, each team has 1-4 people (different universities or different departments are allowed among team members, but they must be current students).

The deadline for pre-registration is 12:00 on May 23

3) Within 24 hours after filling in the questionnaire, the representative of the participating team will receive the confirmation email. After successful registration, the organizing committee will send the details of the intended location to the registration team.

1) Participating teams should guarantee the originality of the submitted works. If it is confirmed that there is plagiarism or plagiarism, the participation will be disqualified.

2) The copyright of the award-winning works is jointly owned by the participating team members and the Organizing Committee of the Art Season, and in the follow-up construction, the original participating team will be given priority to be entrusted to carry out the detailed design of the scheme and construction drawings, and other design units can also be entrusted to carry out the detailed design of the construction drawings of the final implementation plan; The copyright of the unshortlisted works belongs to the designer.

3) The copyright and copyright of the first prize works are jointly owned by the participating teams and the Organizing Committee of the Art Season, and the corresponding entities of the first prize works produced in this art season are owned by the Organizing Committee and its designated units.

4) The topographic drawings in the entry materials are only for the contestants to create, and shall not be used for other purposes, otherwise they will bear the consequences.
