Founded in 1995 and located on the Isle of Isle of Rail, Scotland, Arran Distillery is a relatively young distillery and the first legal distillery in operation on Isle of Allen in the past 160 years. Since February 2017, Allen has officially built a second distillery on Allen Island, Lagg, and mainly produces peat whisky, and at 14:35 on March 19, 2019, Lagg Distillery officially distilled the liquor.
On August 22, 2023, Allen released a new whisky line, The Signature Series, along with the first spirit, as detailed at the end of this article.
On May 16, 2024, Alan officially released the second wine in this series. The official introduction said: "Through this whiskey, we invite you to explore the heavy peat Allen whiskey matured in bourbon barrels." This wine has a peat phenol value of 42 ppm. The whisky is matured using 115-litre quarter-barrels from Koval, a small distillery in the United States. The wine was matured in bourbon casks in 2012, about five and a half years later, and in September 2018 it was transferred to Koval quarter barrels for another five and a half years. We only had a small amount of this quarter-barrel heavy peat whisky and never produced this cask heavy peat whisky since. Therefore, it is a very rare whisky for Allen Distillery".
The second wine in the series, Barrel Bonfire, is non-condensate-filtered, uncoloured, 11 years old, 50% ABV, 700ml and 14,822 bottles.
Starting from 2024-05-16, the wine has been available for sale on Allen's official website online store, with an official suggested retail price of £84.98, or about 777 yuan at the current exchange rate.
