After more than 700 days and nights of hard work, he finally developed the first automatic glass cutting machine in the mainland.
This machine not only greatly reduces the labor burden of workers and improves product quality, but also reduces transportation losses and saves a lot of costs for the factory. More importantly, it fills the domestic gap and sets a benchmark for automated production in the glass industry. By 1977, the nine plate-making machines of the Shenyang Glass Factory had been automatically cut, and the production efficiency had been greatly improved.
Shen Yangang's achievements did not stop there. He continued to devote himself to technological innovation and continued to develop more advanced equipment. In 1986, he and his team developed the drum fractional soda ash feeder and the small material premixer, which further improved the uniformity of the glass mixture, improved the surface flatness, and solved another problem in the industry. These two technological achievements won the first prize of major scientific and technological achievements in Liaoning Province.
In addition, Shen Yangang also borrowed advanced foreign technology to create an advanced hot air oven burner. This technology has set a new benchmark for the hot air baking technology in mainland China, and won the first prize of "five small" achievements in Liaoning Province.
Due to his many technological innovations and selfless dedication, Shen Yangang was known as the "King of Machinery" and served as the deputy director of the Shenyang Municipal Staff Technical Cooperation Committee. He insisted on helping the factory solve problems in his spare time, regardless of remuneration, and was widely praised and praised.
