Even if the 618 event is opened at the end of the month, the discount margin will be further increased, and the price reduction of each large memory version model is obviously not as good as last year.

The reason for this is very simple, the price of all storage raw materials has increased. At the Xiaomi 14 press conference in October last year, Lei Jun recommended everyone to buy the largest version. What Lei Jun said is indeed the truth, and I have mentioned this matter many times before. As storage technology continues to evolve, so does the demand for raw materials. However, there was an oversupply in the storage market last year, which caused storage prices to plummet. In order to reverse this situation, storage manufacturers have taken measures to increase prices and reduce production.

Samsung, for example, a leading company in the storage industry, began to raise the price of NAND flash memory last year, despite the sluggish market demand and declining prices at the time. However, Samsung still insisted on raising prices, and the prices of some products even increased by 10%. Subsequently, Samsung and other memory manufacturers such as Kioxia and SK hynix began to reduce production in order to control supply, further pushing up storage prices. These actions have directly led to the price increase of memory chips on the consumer side, including domestic storage manufacturers.

The price increase has led to a sharp increase in the cost of memory chips for mobile phones, and 1TB large storage is even worse, taking OPPO Find X7 Ultra satellite communication version as an example, its 1TB version is more expensive than the 512GB version700 yuan. Although it is bound to the satellite communication function, this still makes some users who originally planned to buy the 1TB version quite complaining.

Large manufacturers can still mitigate the impact of rising costs through supply chain control, but second-tier manufacturers can only choose between product price increases and allocation reductions. For second-tier manufacturers, in the case of fierce competition, they will not dare to increase prices at will, so reducing allocation has become the only choice.
