Huangpu District is one of the representative urban areas of the building economy, and the carbon emissions of buildings account for more than 70% of the total carbon emissions in Huangpu District. Reducing carbon emissions from buildings has always been a top priority for Huangpu. On the occasion of the 34th National Energy Conservation Publicity Week and the 12th National Low Carbon Day, on May 15, Huangpu District held the "2024 National Low Carbon Day and Energy Conservation Publicity Week - Theme Forum on Low-carbon Practice and Sustainable Development of Buildings". The relevant persons in charge of the District Development and Reform Commission, the District Ecological Environment Bureau and the District Construction Management Committee attended the meeting. Representatives of the member units of the Building Green and Low-Carbon Development Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Building Alliance) in the Xintiandi Practice Area attended the meeting.
At the forum, industry experts from the Shanghai Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction Management and Operation Technology Center, the Power Trading Center, and the Energy Conservation Association made keynote speeches on the city's carbon inclusive system, green electricity and green certificate trading policies, low-carbon building standards and development strategies. The District Development and Reform Commission publicized and interpreted the support policies for energy conservation, emission reduction and carbon reduction projects in Huangpu in 2024. Greenland Group, Infinitus Tower and other enterprises exchanged and shared low-carbon practical experience in building carbon credits and smart parking garage construction. Representatives of the member units of the Building Low Carbon Alliance interacted frequently to discuss the energy conservation and carbon reduction work of their respective buildings, and seek a green and low-carbon development path for buildings.
"Our parking garage is divided into two levels with 377 parking spaces, and the parking area is more complex. It takes a long time for the driver to look for a parking space inside. Last year, we carried out the construction of the G2 smart parking garage. After it was put into use, drivers generally reported that parking was much easier, and they no longer had to go around looking for parking spaces...... "Infinitus Tower told reporters that through the renovation, it will not only facilitate drivers, but also reduce the carbon emissions of vehicles entering the building.
The Xintiandi area of the first conference site has more than 30 high-grade buildings, including Xintiandi Nanbeili, Hong Kong Plaza, and Infinitus Building. At present, the construction of near-zero carbon emission practice areas, green eco-urban areas, and import trade promotion innovation demonstration zones is being carried out. Since its establishment in August 2023, the Building Alliance has carried out three alliance activities. The relevant person in charge of the Huangpu District Ecological Environment Bureau said that the building alliance has established a good interactive communication mechanism, and hopes that building enterprises can take the alliance exchange activities as an opportunity to further broaden the idea of green and low-carbon development, promote the transformation and application of more advanced concepts and technological achievements into actual operation, and realize the common high-quality development of the region and enterprises.
The relevant person in charge of the District Construction Management Committee said that green and low-carbon practice is the only way for the sustainable and high-quality development of the building economy, and Huangpu District vigorously promotes all building enterprises to actively carry out low-carbon practices, exchange and share advanced concepts, technologies and experiences, promote the green and low-carbon transformation of building buildings with a hundred flowers blooming, and contribute to the realization of the regional low-carbon demonstration and leading goal. In the next step, Huangpu District will continue to deepen the pilot construction of public building energy efficiency improvement demonstration zones, near-zero carbon emission practice areas, and green eco-urban areas under the guidance of the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, implement various construction tasks, and promote the creation of a pioneer and demonstration place for green transformation and development.
