Zhang Zilin, born in Shijiazhuang in 1984 in a military family, was sent to Tianjin to be cared for by her grandparents at the age of 5, and returned to Beijing's Haidian District at the age of 5. Thanks to her family's genetics, she showed athletic talent from an early age, and at the age of 8 she was recommended to practice track and field at an amateur sports school, specializing in the triple jump and the 100-meter hurdles. Academically, Zhang Zilin has maintained excellent grades from primary school to university, and set three goals in the fourth grade of primary school: become a flag raiser, learn to swim, and become an announcer.
