According to the report, at about 11:50 on October 18, 2023, a large elevator fall accident occurred in the first phase of Focheng Shangdu, Maitreya City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, resulting in 4 deaths, 16 injuries, and direct economic losses of 7.84259 million yuan.
The accident investigation team investigated and determined that the "10.18" large elevator fall accident in Mile City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province was a large special equipment liability accident caused by the failure of the elevator maintenance unit to carry out substantive maintenance in accordance with the regulations, the main responsibility of the user unit was not implemented, and the inspection agency did not carry out the inspection in accordance with the regulations.

The report announced that the incident happened as follows: at 11:49:52 on October 18, 2023, the elevator stopped on the fourth floor, and there was 1 elevator driver in the car; At 11:49:58, 19 passengers entered the accident elevator one after another, and the elevator driver pressed the call button on the first floor, and the car door closed. At 11:50:31, the elevator runs downward, and after two consecutive shakes at 11:50:43 and 11:50:44, the car falls to the pit at 11:50:48.
