In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on disaster prevention, mitigation and relief and the spirit of his speech on inspecting Tianjin, deepen the concept of disaster risk management and comprehensive disaster reduction, and further enhance the ability of our district to prevent and respond to major natural disasters, on the occasion of the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, in accordance with the deployment arrangements of the Municipal Disaster Reduction Office and the work requirements of the District Party Committee and District Government, the Beichen District Disaster Reduction Office organized the Tianmu Town People's Government, the District Emergency Bureau, the District Education Bureau, the District Health Commission, the District Armed Forces Department, the Beichen Branch of Public Security, the Beichen Fire Detachment and other units. The "Beichen District 2024 Earthquake Relief and Comprehensive Emergency Drill for the Activation of Fixed Shelters" was held at the fixed shelter of Nancang Middle School.
The drill was conducted in the form of real troops, real equipment, and actual combat. The background of the drill is set at 9:30 on May 11, 2024, when a magnitude 6 earthquake occurred in Beichen District, with an epicenter depth of 10km and an epicenter intensity of 8 degrees. The District Disaster Reduction Office and relevant units quickly launched an emergency response, activated the fixed shelter of Nancang Middle School, and carried out on-site disposal work.
The drill is divided into evacuation and escape, personnel search and rescue, emergency power supply guarantee, emergency water supply guarantee, disaster relief tent construction, emergency medical assistance, garbage storage and transportation and sewage treatment and other links.
Through the exercise, the participating units were familiar with the content and process of emergency response and comprehensive disposal of natural disasters and emergencies such as earthquakes, tested the feasibility, safety and reliability of the emergency plan, and further improved the overall organization, departmental coordination ability, emergency response ability and actual combat level of the disaster prevention, mitigation and relief command organization, departmental coordination ability, emergency response ability and actual combat level, minimized the losses caused by various disasters, and made every effort to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
