Green and low-carbon, starting from me, do you know these energy-saving knowledge?

01 Power off electrical appliances at the right time

Unplug household appliances in a timely manner

Household appliances such as televisions, washing machines, microwave ovens, and air conditioners are still consuming electricity in standby mode. If 390 million households across the country unplug after using electricity, it can save about 2.03 billion kilowatt hours of electricity every year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.97 million tons.

The water dispenser is powered off when not in use

According to statistics, the water dispenser is really used for about 9 hours a day, and the rest of the time is basically idle, and nearly two-thirds of the electricity consumption is wasted. Turning off the power of the water dispenser when it is not in use saves about 366 kWh of electricity per year, and the corresponding reduction of carbon dioxide emissions is 351 kg. If this measure is taken for the approximately 40 million water dispensers in the country, the country can save about 14.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 14.05 million tons every year.

02Use energy-saving lamps

Replacing incandescent lamps with energy-saving lamps has the following advantages: 70-80% power saving than incandescent lamps, and the life span is as long as 8000-10000 hours, which is 8-10 times that of incandescent lamps; There are a variety of light colors to choose from, and it is easy to replace. When buying energy-saving lamps, you should buy products with good brands and certification marks in reputable stores to ensure quality. Do not buy inferior and low-cost energy-saving lamps, so as not to save energy and money.

03Use refrigerators scientifically

The refrigerator should be placed away from heat sources and have proper ventilation space. Turn up the temperature control of the refrigerator in summer and lower it in winter.

Remove frost from the refrigerator in time and reduce the number and time of opening the refrigerator; Frozen food can be slowly thawed in the refrigerator to make full use of the residual cold and try not to thaw in the microwave.

Hot food should be cooled to room temperature before being placed in the refrigerator.

Fruits and vegetables have a lot of water, so they should be washed and drained and then wrapped in a plastic bag and put in the refrigerator.

The volume of food stored in the refrigerator is about 80%, and the heat capacity becomes smaller when the food is stored too little, and the food stored is too dense, which is not conducive to the circulation of cold air, so that the compressor increases the number of starts and the running time.

04Use an energy-efficient washing machine

Energy-saving washing machines save 50% electricity and 60% more water than ordinary washing machines, and each energy-saving washing machine can save about 3.7 kg of standard coal per year, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 9.4 kg accordingly. If 10% of ordinary washing machines in the country are updated to energy-saving washing machines every year, then about 70,000 tons of standard coal can be saved every year, and 178,000 tons of carbon dioxide can be reduced.

05 Scientific use of television

The brighter and louder the TV, the more power it consumes. Turn on a 5-watt energy-saving lamp indoors, and adjust the brightness and volume of the TV moderately, so that the viewing effect is good and not easy to cause eye fatigue. Watching TV during the day and closing the curtains to avoid light can reduce the brightness of the TV accordingly.

06Be careful when using an electric iron

Electric irons should be purchased temperature control type, this kind of iron not only heats up quickly, but also automatically loses power after meeting the use requirements. When ironing clothes, iron the lower temperature resistance in the initial stage of power-on, wait for the temperature to rise, then iron the higher temperature resistance, and after the power is off, then iron a part of the lower temperature resistance.

07 Kitchen appliance tips

microwave oven

When processing food, a protective film should be added, one is to prevent the food moisture from evaporating, and the other is to save electricity.

Electric kettle

Regularly removing limescale from the electric kettle can improve heating efficiency and extend the service life.

rice cooker

When cooking, soak the washed rice for 10 minutes before cooking, which can save electricity; A rice cooker cooks the same amount of rice, and a 700-watt rice cooker is more time-saving and power-efficient than a 500-watt rice cooker. Keep the rice cooker tray clean. The oil stains attached to the electric heating plate will carbonize into a film after a long time, which will affect the thermal conductivity and increase power consumption.

08 Reasonable electric fan

Electric fans consume only 5%-10% of the power of air conditioners, so try to use them when the weather is not too hot or the time is short. The power consumption of an electric fan is directly proportional to the rotational speed, with a difference of about 40% between the fastest and slowest gears. When the requirements are met, try to use medium or slow gear.
