order
The spatial structure of this project is inspired by the Baiwang Palace (the main temple of the Bai nationality) in the depths of Dali urban area. The temple juxtaposes the "loose" space such as the ancient music stage and the activity square in the front courtyard and the "strict" space such as the sacrificial hall in the back courtyard, the proportion of the two courtyards is square and equal, and the space sight penetrates the two courtyards and points to the core hall of the main temple, and the overall structure of the space is clear, concise and relaxed.

balance
The entrance space on the first floor is juxtaposed with the dining kitchen, living room, work area and Buddha worship area, each space is stacked and relatively independent of each other, and the hidden axis of the line of sight is from the kitchen window to the living room to the work area to focus on the Buddha altar. Different functional spaces are separated by "surface" zones formed by different materials to strengthen the integrity and autonomy of each functional space.

adapt
The "hidden" sight organization of the first floor space originates from the inward indoor space structure mechanism, while the external "bright" line of sight corresponds to the external environment and adapts to the organization, for the surrounding neighborhood sight to avoid and reduce the crossing, without reducing the size of the lighting surface under the premise of setting up sections, the upper section of the conventional window system obtains a clear line of sight (upward can see the mountains and blue sky) to solve the ventilation, and the lower section is made of glass bricks, which obtains good light and blurs the surrounding cluttered building environment.

On the second floor, the bedroom space is rotated moderately with the bed for better views, with corner windows for a more open view of the landscape, while a mixed brick and glass brick wall captures light and softens the surrounding corners.

Faces and lines
Wood-colored plywood and white paint-free board produce the "surface" image of space while completing the construction of the cabinet and wall, the wood-colored board with its own texture is the line in its "surface", bringing a natural image, the white board has its own uniform texture, the overall sense of order of the "surface" is strong, and the wood-colored section of the four sides of the white board is exposed, which strengthens the directionality and sense of region of the space, and is also conducive to dealing with the edge of the board and the finished surface of the wall.
