Premier League clubs will vote ahead of the 2024/25 season on a proposal to end the use of VAR in England's top flight.

In the current campaign, the technology has been criticized, with high-profile mistakes occurring more often than is acceptable. Most notably, at the start of the season, Luis Diaz scored for Liverpool against Tottenham Hotspur and was badly ruled offside due to a miscommunication between the VAR bench and referee Simon Hooper.

After a season of controversy, Wolves have now formally lodged a motion to remove VAR for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Premier League clubs will now vote on the motion at their upcoming annual general meeting in June.

"It's understandable, we're all looking for the best possible result for football, and all stakeholders are trying hard to try and succeed in introducing additional technology.
