In order to celebrate the 34th National Day for the Disabled, enrich the campus life of special children, and bloom their innocence and childlike fun, Jinzhai County Special Education School held a grand theme activity of "Science and Technology to Help the Disabled and Share a Better Life" on the morning of May 15.
The event was hosted by the Jinzhai County Education Bureau and the Jinzhai County Disabled Persons' Federation, and undertaken by the Jinzhai County Special Education School. The activity was strongly supported by 35 units and individuals, including Anhui Jinzhai Vocational School, Meishan Town People's Government, Jinzhai County People's Court, and Jinzhai County People's Procuratorate. The event included four parts: signing blessings from caring people, talent show, art display and visiting the technology caravan.
Accompanied by uplifting music, a wonderful African drum performance kicked off the event. The talent show covered various forms such as drum music, solo singing, catwalk, chorus, etc., and the performance was fully supported by Jinzhai County University for the Elderly (new and old campuses) and Jinzhai County Sunshine Family Education Service Center. The talent show is not only an important platform for children to show their demeanor to the outside world, but also an opportunity for the school to report its development to all walks of life. Although there are not many programs, the children put in a lot of effort, a very simple action, they have to put in a lot of effort offstage. Although the performance was not perfect, their spirit deeply infected the guests at the scene.
The art exhibit area is divided into eight exhibition areas, including beads, lacquer paintings, hairpins and other types, and all the works on display are completed by our students under the guidance and help of teachers. The works in the paper-cutting area were jointly completed by Sun Run, a descendant of intangible cultural heritage, and led by special education teachers. At the event, hundreds of handicrafts won unanimous praise from everyone, and the students also gave their own handmade handicrafts to the guests. The gift is small, but it is full of sincere gratitude from the children.
The technology caravan brought a variety of exhibits such as mechanical telescopic flowers, floating magnets, spring seals, optical illusion clocks, and more. Under the guidance of the teachers of Jinzhai County Science and Technology Association, the students shuttled between the booths with great interest to visit and experience.
The day made the children in special schools feel accepted and tolerated by the society, and all the funds and materials raised from this activity were used for the school's education and teaching and to improve the quality of life of students. Jinzhai County Special Education School hopes that through such activities, more caring people will join the team of helping the disabled and jointly contribute to the cause of the disabled.
