Case 3
On July 20, 2023, a fire suddenly broke out in the homes of residents in a small community in Songbei District, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, with thick smoke billowing and nearby residents being choked. It is reported that the cause of the accident was caused by three men lighting mosquito coils before falling asleep, and mosquito coil ashes fell on the sheets. Fortunately, fire and rescue personnel arrived in time and there were no casualties.
After the mosquito coil is lit, the temperature near it is more than 300 degrees; In the case of smoldering, the maximum temperature of the fire point is as high as 700 °C - 800 °C, which is enough to ignite the combustibles such as mosquito nets, cotton cloth, sponges, clothes, and paper with low ignition points, causing fires.
