In order to comprehensively promote the concept of environmental protection and green and low-carbon sustainable development, promote the orderly development of school garbage classification, and cultivate students to form good living habits, on May 11, 2024, the students of Huha Road Primary School in Xincheng District walked into the "Xincheng District Domestic Waste Sorting Center and Garbage Classification Practice Education Base" and participated in a unique and meaningful green and low-carbon social practice activity.
During the activity, the staff led the students and teachers to visit the sorting and treatment facilities for kitchen waste, bulky garbage, hazardous waste, and recyclables in an orderly manner, and explained the whole process of kitchen waste treatment and the whole process of bulky garbage crushing in detail. The students listened with relish and raised their questions from time to time, which were answered patiently and meticulously by the staff, and the atmosphere was warm and strong.
Subsequently, the staff led everyone to the practical education experience center, and the instructor used the "sand table" tool to let the students understand the transportation system of domestic waste in the new urban area and the front-end, middle-end and end-of-line closed-loop management methods of garbage classification, so that everyone had a deep understanding of the significance of garbage classification.
Through this practical activity, the students not only understood the importance of garbage classification to improve the living environment, but also realized the truth that "everyone participates in garbage classification and everyone shares the results of classification". The students said that in their future study and life, they should actively become propagandists and practitioners of garbage classification, and make their own efforts and contributions to the cause of garbage classification.
