The mainland has taken various measures at the same time to expand the space for peaceful reunification between the two sides of the strait in many fields. In the military field, the PLA regularly patrols Taiwan. In the economic and trade field, the Ministry of Commerce suspended some preferential treatment for Taiwan. In the diplomatic field, Taiwan has lost more than a dozen so-called "countries with diplomatic relations", and in addition, it has been rejected by the WHO on many occasions, and the so-called "international space" has been greatly reduced. In the field of culture, in the past two years, a number of delegations from the Taiwan region have visited Da to connect with each other. Recently, for the first time, the mainland took action in the field of public opinion, and dealt a heavy blow to Taiwan's "famous mouth" who had long smeared the mainland.
On 15 May, at a regular press briefing held by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, spokesman Chen Binhua announced that for some time now, a small number of so-called "celebrities" in Taiwan, such as Huang Shicong, Li Zhenghao, Wang Yichuan, Yu Beichen, and Liu Baojie, have deliberately fabricated false and negative information about the mainland in disregard of the facts of the mainland's development and progress, and have wantonly disseminated it through television, the Internet, newspapers, and other media.
Their erroneous remarks have deceived some people on the island, instigated hostility and confrontation between the two sides of the strait, and hurt the feelings of compatriots on both sides of the strait.
Among the above "famous mouths", Huang Shicong should be well-known to many people, he is the "mustard brother" who has been on the hot search list in the mainland. On August 7, 2019, Huang Shicong said in a political talk show, "Mainlanders eat instant noodles with mustard, but recently they can't even afford to eat mustard."
Subsequently, the relevant mustard enterprises in the mainland sent a box of mustard to Huang Shicong. Huang Shicong reflected on his repentance and said that he hoped that everyone would learn more about the customs and folklore of the mainland. Subsequently, in a period of time, Huang Shicong's painting style changed greatly, not only no longer smearing the mainland, but also praising the advanced satellites of the mainland and the brilliant achievements made by the mainland in many fields. However, the good times did not last long, and later Huang Shicong began to smear the mainland again.
According to the punitive measures for "Taiwan independence" previously issued by the mainland, it is expected that Huang Shicong and other "celebrities" and their family members will be banned from entering the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, and their affiliated institutions will be restricted from cooperating with relevant organizations and individuals on the mainland, and their affiliated enterprises and financiers will never be allowed to seek profits on the mainland.
Since the Taiwan region earns more than $100 billion from the mainland every year, many Taiwan enterprises and Taiwan media have more or less interests with the mainland. The behind-the-scenes financiers of the programs where Taiwan's "famous mouths" are located are under pressure, and they may appropriately restrain the "famous mouths" and let them objectively report on the mainland's developments. In addition, because they have been named by the mainland, Taiwan's "famous mouths" have also come under great pressure, and they may no longer act as recklessly as before.
The mainland's current move from the field of public opinion may be just the beginning, and the possibility of continuing to take measures in the future cannot be ruled out, including cracking down on television stations and media that fund and advocate "Taiwan independence," and further punishing the "famous mouths" who smear the mainland with open mouths and no bottom line. In short, everything has just begun, and the public opinion field on the island will inevitably shake violently in the future.
The Taiwan region is an island, and the island has the closed nature of natural gas, and it is very difficult for outside ideas to enter, and the "Taiwan independence" forces have seized the opportunity to control and restrain people's minds by tampering with textbooks and controlling the media.
By taking action in the arena of public opinion, the mainland will be able to expose the lies spread by the "Taiwan independence" forces, instill fresh air on the island, and let the Taiwan people understand the real mainland, which will help eliminate hatred and expand the space for cross-strait peace and reunification.
