It turned out that a top-secret piece of information was revealed in the publication of the Northern Bureau of the Communist Party of China - Marshal Peng Dehuai planned to adopt a "two-faced policy" against Okamura. After seeing this information, Okamura Ninji, who had always been moody, trembled with anger and ordered the surrender to be killed. What exactly is written in this intelligence? Why did Okamura feel like a great enemy? And who did he order to be slaughtered? What will be the end result?
The flames of war are raging, and the undercurrents are turbulent
In August 1940, the vigorous Battle of the Hundred Regiments began. Our army sent a total of 105 regiments and about 200,000 troops to attack the Japanese army's communication lines, blow up bridges and stations, and destroy railways. In just three and a half months, 1,824 battles were fought, annihilating more than 50,000 Japanese puppet troops, becoming the most thrilling battle of the Anti-Japanese War so far.
This fiasco undoubtedly severely degraded the morale of the Japanese army in North China. The cabinet of Hideki Tojo took it very seriously and urgently needed to send a fierce general to turn the tide of the war.

In 1932, as the deputy chief of staff of the Kwantung Army, Okamura secretly instigated the tragic "Rehe Qingxiang". Hundreds of thousands of peasants were mercilessly slaughtered, and their homes turned into purgatory on earth.

From the very beginning, Okamura Ninji secretly spoke about our army's guerrilla tactics. In the face of the ubiquitous and pervasive encirclement of the Eighth Route Army, he was determined to follow its tricks, lurk in the mountains and forests, and wait for an opportunity to catch me off guard.
At the same time, he upgraded the sweeping policy to a three-light policy of "burning, killing, and robbing". Everywhere I went, corpses were strewn all over the field, rivers of blood flowed, and flames soared into the sky, which was unspeakably miserable.

In April 1942, Marshal Peng Dehuai and General Zuo Quan had a secret meeting in Pingshan Village, Hebei Province. The two of you said a word, and finally came up with a good counterattack - "two-sided policy".
The so-called "two-faced policy" means that in dealing with cunning and murderous people like Okamura Ninji, we must not force ourselves to abide by the old norms, but must adopt a specious strategy that wants to get away with it.
On the one hand, Peng Dehuai was determined to release part of his "sincerity", waving his flag and shouting at the Japanese army, pretending to be willing to "cease fire and surrender". This document records in detail that our army is willing to surrender to the Japanese army and is willing to reach a united front with it to jointly contain the Kuomintang. Okamura was overjoyed when he saw it, and immediately took it lightly.
At the same time, the elites of the Eighth Route Army were secretly brewing a counterattack. They quietly infiltrated the Japanese puppet army, assassinated traitors and traitors, and disrupted the internal order of the enemy. At this moment, a Japanese intelligence officer rushed in, holding a secret document of the Northern Bureau of the Communist Party of China that had just been intercepted, with a panicked face, and rushed straight to Okamura Ninji.
"Report to your Excellency! We have intercepted a highly classified document on the tactics and tactics that the Eighth Route Army is about to adopt! The intelligence officer's hands trembled slightly, and he told the earth-shattering news.
Okamura Ninji has always attached great importance to intelligence work, and even if he shouts to his subordinates to circulate this article, he must thoroughly investigate and report the content to his superiors.
It was discovered that this was an internal document titled "Six Strategies for Governing the Army", which recorded a set of countermeasures formulated by Peng Dehuai in response to the Japanese invasion.
In particular, the fourth "two-sided offensive": showing goodwill to the Japanese army outside and releasing the sincerity of surrender, in fact, secretly instigating the guerrilla troops to actively counterattack and give the enemy a head-on attack!

Okamura had a glimmer of hope for our army, but now he has been completely hit by this information. He believes that our army is not only backtracking and untrustworthy, but is also openly provoking his authority and challenging his rule.

Meticulous counter-espionage warfare
Okamura Ninji was furious, intending to kill all those who surrendered, but our army did not stop there. With the advancement of the "two-faced policy", the Eighth Route Army carried out a secret contest of counter-espionage warfare in depth.
First of all, there was a covert operation to infiltrate the interior of the Japanese army. Our army deliberately planted a large number of spies into the enemy camp to keep an eye on the enemy's every move.
Among them, the most outstanding is Liu Yuzhen, the daughter of Liu Laohan. At that time, Peng Dehuai, Liu Bocheng and others had gathered the main forces of North China in the Datong area, preparing to launch a general offensive. And the Japanese army was also well aware of the movements of our army before and was ready to face the battle.
The two sides confronted each other in Datong, Yanggao, Qixian and other places, and the war gradually became white-hot. On November 19, the Japanese army launched an attack at Ningwu and first broke a knot.
Our army had already been prepared for a long time, and immediately fought back, annihilating more than 600 enemies. The sinister Okamura Ninji was furious and immediately mobilized all his troops to launch a counterattack.
In this way, the two sides went back and forth, and a protracted large-scale battle began. The flames of war burned throughout the entire Taihang and Yangcheng areas, and tens of thousands of Red Army disciples rushed to the aid overnight, and the fierce battle was thrilling.
The forward regiment of our Eighth Route Army fought against the powerful main force of the Japanese army many times, but each time it was suppressed under Okamura's solid defense system. But we are always looking for weak links.
The turning point came on December 5, 1942, when the Eighth Route Army learned that a Japanese transport unit was passing through Yanggao and immediately decided to wait for an opportunity to launch a surprise attack.
That night, taking advantage of the hazy night, dark moon and high wind, more than 900 people of our army quietly surrounded the rear road of the Japanese army, fired a grenade flare, and launched a fierce attack like lightning.

By April 1943, Okamura Ninji was forced to shrink in the area around Bobaiyuan, and our army had taken full control of Beiping, an important town in North China. Faced with the sudden fiasco, Okamura was shocked and regretted.
In the end, Okamura was forced to lead the remnants to flee back to Kannai, and the situation of resistance against Japan in North China was reversed. After two years of hard fighting, our army finally drove this once rampant "murderer demon king" out of the territory of the Central Plains.
This Battle of North China, which was personally recognized by Okamura, was the most tragic battle of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression led by Okamura.
