What kind of person is Lin Zhao, and what special experiences does she have?

Let's take a look.

In the early thirties of the last century, the land of China was filled with gunsmoke, and Japan launched a war of aggression against China, but the Kuomintang took it

It was in this environment that Lin Zhao was born in a small bridge and flowing water in the Jiangnan water town.

Lin Zhao was born in a revolutionary family, his uncle Xu Jinyuan joined the Communist Party of China as early as 1925, served as the secretary of the Suzhou Independent Branch of the Communist Party of China, in April 1927 Chiang Kai-shek launched a counter-revolutionary coup, Xu Jinyuan was unfortunately killed, under the influence of Xu Jinyuan, Lin Zhao's mother also embarked on the revolutionary road.

For Lin Zhao, careful people can find that from the forties and fifties to the sixties, there is a clear shift.

After graduating from middle school, his family did not want Lin Zhao to get involved in politics, so Lin Zhao ignored his parents' opposition and was admitted to the Southern Jiangsu Journalism College, which is known as the "cradle of the revolution."

In 1952, Lin Zhao joined the "Changzhou Minbao" office, and when he was the supplement editor of the "Changzhou Minbao", he often went deep into the factory to carry out a large number of reports, including a column called "Stalin's Story", which was more popular with readers.

In 1954, Lin Zhao was admitted to the journalism major of the Department of Chinese of Peking University with the first place, and his name was Peng Lingzhao at the time of admission, and his name was changed to Lin Zhao after admission.

After entering the school, Lin Zhao was very active, not only participated in the Peking University Poetry Society, but also became one of the editorial board members of the comprehensive student literary and artistic journal "Red Mansion", known as "Miss Lin in the Red Mansion", Lin Zhao at this time can be said to be a talented woman of Peking University who is envied by everyone.

In this year, the anti-rightist struggle began to be staged, and Lin Zhao was also branded as a rightist because of his support for a rightist student named Zhang Yuanxun, and since then, the talented woman of Peking University, who is admired by everyone, has become a rightist with a "stubborn attitude".

Regarding the punishment of re-education through labor, Lin Zhao expressed his dissatisfaction and went to the Central Committee of the Youth League to question:

"When Mr. Cai Yuanpei was the president of Peking University, he angrily asked the Beiyang warlord government to bail out the students arrested on May Fourth, but now they (referring to the leaders of Peking University) sent the students in, where is the conscience?"

In 1958, Peking University journalism experts were merged into the Department of Journalism of the National People's Congress, and Lin Zhao was transferred from the professional journalism department of Peking University to the Department of Journalism of the National People's Congress for supervision and labor.

In 1959, due to his serious illness, Lin Zhao applied to return to Shanghai to recuperate, and when he returned to Shanghai, Lin Zhao made some friends, such as Zhang Chunyuan, a right-wing student in the history department of Lanzhou University, and Gu Yan, a graduate student in the physics department.

In October 1960, Xinghuo magazine was seized after only one issue, and Lin Zhao was arrested in his hometown of Suzhou for "counter-revolutionary crimes".

In 1962, Lin Zhao was released on medical parole, and when he returned to Shanghai, Lin Zhao got in touch with an unstateless expatriate, Arnold, and asked him to bring his works "We Are Innocent" and "Letter to Lu Ping, President of Peking University" to be published overseas.

In view of his "restless" behavior during his medical parole, in December 1962, the public security organs arrested Lin Zhao again.

The prison authorities asked Su Zonghua, director of the Shanghai Psychiatric Hospital, to conduct a psychiatric evaluation of Lin Zhao, and the result was that he was mentally abnormal.

"There is still a breath left, and I would rather sit through the bottom of the prison in this life, never let down my original wish and change my original ambition a little."

During this period, Lin Zhao repeatedly protested by hunger strike or suicide, wrote letters to Shanghai Mayor Ke Qingshi to express his political opinions, and attempted to send letters to Japanese lawyer Nagano Tongji and Chilean journalist Rojas through prison guards, and in 1965 the court sentenced Lin Zhao to 20 years in prison in view of his various behaviors.

So, why was Lin Zhao's sentence later commuted to death?

In 1968, the public security organs found out that Lin Zhao had established an underground organization called the "China Free Youth Fighting League" in Suzhou during his medical parole in 1962, and asked Arnold to take his manuscript overseas for publication, so Lin Zhao's sentence was commuted from 20 years in prison to death and immediately executed.

On April 29, 1968, Lin Zhao was executed in Longhua, Shanghai, at the age of 36, and shouted on his deathbed: "History will prove my innocence." ”

It is said that when Lin Zhao was executed, his family did not receive a notice, and when the staff came to Lin Zhao's home to collect five cents for the bullet, the family learned that Lin Zhao had been killed, and Lin Zhao's mother, Xu Xianmin, was so enraged that she committed suicide in Huangpu Park in Shanghai in 1975.

In 1980, the Shanghai High People's Court acquitted Lin Zhao after a review and concluded: "This is a wrongful murder of an innocent person." ”
