Pim Kranok, a well-known Thai model and internet icon, has come forward to take legal action against those responsible for leaking a private private video she circulated on social media. Pym suffered personally as a result of the incident, and she was determined to use advanced forensic tools to trace the source and hold the perpetrators accountable.
Yesterday at 10:30 a.m., Pym, accompanied by her agent and current boyfriend, filed a complaint with the Cybercrime Unit of the Royal Thai Police. She was joined by a well-known social activist and founder of the "Cymay Must Survive" web page, Ekapu Lomp Lasseter, who advised her during this ordeal.
They met with Major General Chatchapanthakarn Klaiklueng of the police station to initiate legal proceedings against those involved in the dissemination of private videos. With tears in her eyes, Pym shared her disbelief and pain, expressing confusion at how the video was leaked, especially since her ex-boyfriend was also in the video, claiming that his phone had not been tampered with.
She implored the public not to share this video and thanked those who offered support and respect during this challenging time. Ekapop stressed that the leaked video involved Pym and her ex-boyfriend, not a South Korean man, as some had speculated.
He clarified that the ex-boyfriend in question dated Pym after her relationship with a South Korean national ended. Ekapop confirmed that since the video leaked, Pym has admitted that it featured her and sought legal assistance through the Sai Mai Must Survive page.
He also mentioned that the cyber police are using special tools to investigate and identify those who leaked the video, noting that there are several suspicious aspects of the case. Ekapop further commented on the actions of his ex-boyfriend, criticizing those who continue to share the video and urging them to show compassion for women in this situation.
He denounced the act as shameful and warned of the consequences of laws for sharing such content, including possible fines and imprisonment. Police Major General Chatchapanthakarn said that the investigation will be conducted by a female investigator. He warned that under various chapters of Thai law, those who distribute or share content that causes harm to others will be affected by the law.
He stressed the urgency of the investigation and the police's commitment to protecting the dignity of the victims, assuring that even if images or videos are deleted from the phone, the police can retrieve them.
