Recently, some media broke the news that Kawasaki will launch the W230, and the car will be the first to be launched in overseas markets in the autumn and winter of 2024.
The W series is a very classic Japanese street car of Kawasaki, and only the W800 is currently sold in the mainland market, but in fact it will also have multiple versions such as W175 and W230, and the W230 shared in this issue is the optimized 2024 model, and its original version will be officially launched in 2023.
In terms of appearance, the W230 will give people an emotional value that they can't put down and are difficult to give up, because its retro elements are pure enough, especially the upgraded 2024 model in addition to the retro style is more prominent, and it will also show a better sense of refinement, which virtually deepens the impression of this car on me.
After all, the first feeling of considering this type of model is very important, if the shape of the rounded attribute cannot achieve the effect that the individual wants, then it will inevitably have the low-end and cheap feeling of the tool car, and it cannot be linked to the small displacement boutique leisure model, which is why the Humil 150 can't arouse my desire to buy.
On the other hand, the Kawasaki W230 round headlights, the left and right symmetrical retro instruments, the water drop fuel tank, the black and white retro seats, and the full and stylish engine shape and the metal logo that highlights the texture, there is no resistance to retro fans like me, even if you spend a little more money, you will treat it as the first choice model, after all, the first element of buying a car is to like, what is the use of it if it does not meet this standard?
In terms of power, the model is equipped with a single-cylinder air-cooled EFI engine, which has an actual displacement of 233 cc, a compression ratio of 9.4:1, and a single overhead camshaft two-valve design, with a maximum power of 13.8KW and a maximum torque of 19.5N·m.
With a refined and durable exterior and a low-torque powertrain, this Kawasaki W230 is undoubtedly the dream car of small-displacement retro gamers.
That's why I sighed, if Suzuki's Hardcore also builds itself according to this idea, it will undoubtedly find a new track, after all, the foundation of this car is good, not only the engine is durable, the vehicle structure is also very compact, and it already has a certain retro gene, it wants to improve nothing more than the proportion of the model.
Of course, if the existing Mighty 150 is made a little more refined according to this idea, it may be easier to improve this car, because it is a straddle bike with retro elements, but the current positioning is still at the level of a tool car, and has not evolved to the level of a small-displacement recreational motorcycle.
But in fact, this is not difficult, it is nothing more than to add a little mellow attributes, replace the caterpillar seats, and improve the texture of the whole vehicle, so that it can not only be sold at a good price, but also capture a lot of retro fans, why not? So factories can change their thinking and think in this direction.
