Although Wu Zhaoxie did not specify which two countries are at risk of "severing diplomatic relations" with Taiwan, many analysts on the island speculate that he is talking about Haiti and Guatemala. You know, in February this year, Guatemala's Foreign Minister Martinez publicly revealed that they have the idea of increasing contacts with the mainland and intend to set up a trade office to help Guatemalan products enter the mainland market.
As the least developed country in Latin America, Haiti is not only politically turbulent but also very difficult in economic development, and is heavily dependent on foreign aid. The reason why these countries have established so-called "diplomatic relations" with the Taiwan authorities is nothing more than for the sake of the three melons and two dates in the pockets of the Taiwan authorities.

However, the Taiwan authorities are not the only ones that have been hit hard. It is reported that in the past two days, the registration for the 77th session of the World Health Assembly has been closed, and Taiwan has still not received any invitation from the WHO.
Just a few days ago, the DPP authorities vowed to participate in this year's World Health Assembly, but they were slapped in the face. Even U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has publicly supported the Taiwan authorities and encouraged the WHO to invite the Taiwan region to participate in this year's conference as an observer. It is precisely because of the help of the United States that the Taiwan authorities have placed high hopes on this.
Obviously, the United States has once again played tricks on the Taiwan authorities, making them happy. This also fully proves that the US commitment to the Taiwan authorities is nothing but a blank promise, and it is absolutely impossible to really give them substantial help at a critical moment. At the same time, it is enough to show that the current "one-China principle" is the trend of the times.
In this regard, Chen Binhua, a spokesman for the mainland's Taiwan Affairs Office, said that it was the Taiwan authorities' insistence on the stubborn "Taiwan independence" stance that caused the political basis for Taiwan's participation in the WHA to no longer exist. Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin also stressed that the "one-China principle" is the aspiration of the international community, and any challenge to the "one-China principle" is a move that turns back the clock on history, and there is absolutely no way out.
It is worth mentioning that before the Taiwan authorities could recover from the blow of being rejected by the WHO, the mainland had already made two high-level moves. It has been learned that in the past two days, for the first time in Pingtan in Fujian, the mainland has implemented mutual recognition of the identity of Taiwan compatriots "two certificates," so that Taiwan compatriots in Pingtan can enjoy the same convenience as mainland residents.
In addition, Fujian has also issued a "Fuma City" card, which can not only pre-store 300 yuan, but also allow Matsu residents to enjoy a number of preferential policies in Fuzhou City, according to the latest statistics, nearly 3,000 people have applied for the card. Obviously, these policies introduced by the mainland are aimed at strengthening exchanges between the people on both sides of the strait and promoting cross-strait integration.
This has also severely stimulated the Taiwan authorities, who have clamored that this is a tool of the mainland's "united front," and that Matsu residents' application for the "Fuma City" card also involves the leakage of personal information, which "poses a certain hidden danger to the security of the Taiwan region," and the Taiwan Mainland Affairs Council has not yet allowed the "Lianjiang County" government to provide residents' information to the mainland.
However, the people on the island are quite dissatisfied with the words and deeds of the Taiwan authorities, and they accuse them of why they are manipulating politics on this matter to make things difficult for the people. It can be seen from this that both the so-called "friendly countries" and the people on the island have greatly weakened their trust in the Taiwan authorities, and if this trend continues, the mainland will not even have to deal with heavy hands, and the DPP will not be able to go far.
