During the past "May Day" holiday, the estimated traffic of the three passages of Yingtian Street Tunnel, Dinghuaimen Tunnel and Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge exceeded the historical peak, reaching 347,800 vehicles. Among them, the average daily traffic volume of Yingtian Street Tunnel is 97,500 vehicles, and the average daily traffic volume of Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge is 101,600 vehicles. The Jiangxinzhou Yangtze River Bridge was completed and opened to traffic in December 2020, and by the end of 2023, 81.94 million vehicles have been passed, with an average of 90,000 vehicles per day. In June 2021, it has reached an average daily design saturation flow of 60,000 vehicles. And the traffic of the bridge is gradually increasing year by year.

The announcement mentions that the preliminary research funds for the Jiangxinzhou Jiajiang Passage have been implemented, and Sino-Singapore Nanjing Eco-Hi-Tech Island Investment and Development Co., Ltd. is entrusted by the Management Committee of Jiangsu Nanjing Eco-Hi-Tech Island Economic Development Zone, the investor, to implement the planning scheme and engineering feasibility study project of the Jiangxinzhou Crossing the Jiajiang Channel, and the tenderer is the Nanjing Public Works Construction Center.
