Recently, the Xianyou County Public Security Bureau cracked a case of theft of the temple merit box, successfully smashed 1 theft gang that stole incense money from the temple merit box across provinces and cities, and arrested the suspects Qin Moumou (male, 49 years old, Guangxi), Feng Moumou (male, 41 years old, Guangxi), Wang Moumou (female, 43 years old, Yunnan) and other 3 people. At present, the three suspects have been criminally detained by our bureau and some of the stolen money has been seized. After investigation: Since 2023, the theft gang has been driving to Guangdong Province, Fujian Province and other places, carefully selecting temples with incense money in the merit box by stepping on the points, waiting for opportunities to commit crimes and illegally collect money, and the amount involved is huge.
In order to meet the needs of case handling and thoroughly investigate all the facts of the criminal gang's crimes, such clues are hereby openly solicited from the public: Since 2023, there has been a similar situation of the theft of the temple merit box in Fujian Province, and the relevant victims or insiders are requested to actively report and report to the public security organs, and provide relevant clues or evidence, and the public security organs will maintain strict confidentiality and protect the rights of informants, victims, and witnesses in accordance with the law.
