"Ethereal Scene" Yu Wei's solo exhibition was officially unveiled at Huacui Museum of Contemporary Art recently. The exhibition showcases a large number of new works by renowned contemporary abstract painter Yu Wei since 2021. His works integrate many visual resources and use them for his own use, with the help of various rich and mellow picture details, creating an ethereal scene like the heaven and earth and the universe.
Thick patches of color, flowing traces and shimmering pastels melt and overlap...... In the exhibition hall, abstract paintings are like ethereal worlds, which are fascinating. Under the painter Yu Wei's unbridled brushwork, the pigments flow on the cloth and paper, forming a visual level that blends virtual and real, shades and shades, and moistens and gorgeous, without presupposition, which is very unique.
The reporter learned that Yu Wei graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts and is currently teaching at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Yu Wei has been deeply involved in the creation of abstract painting for 20 years, and his works allow the viewer to feel the tension of emotion from order and intangibility through structure, brushstrokes and colors.
Most of the works in this exhibition are new works by Yu Wei since 2021, and compared with the works of the previous period, these works have further evolved and improved in terms of picture production, use of color and aura pattern, and the overall creative style is more wanton and bold, which is quite "ethereal".
