Bed bug hazards

In the past decade, due to the increase in international tourism and the emergence of bed bug resistance, bed bugs, which have been extinct for a long time in developed countries and regions such as Europe and the United States, have reappeared. In recent years, mainland bed bug damage has also been on the rise.

Although it has not been proven that bed bugs can transmit diseases under natural conditions, in most cases, being bitten by bed bugs can cause symptoms of immune reaction such as skin redness, inflammation, itching, red maculopapular rashes, and even blisters, which can cause tension, anxiety and insomnia, seriously affecting people's daily life. When there are 3-5 consecutive red dots on the surface of the skin, and these red dots are arranged in a straight line or zigzag, it is likely to be caused by a bed bug bite. In the face of such a situation, it should not be taken lightly, if the symptoms persist or worsen, please seek medical attention in time and follow the doctor's instructions for treatment.

Ways to control bed bugs at home

Physical Methods

Use a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly clean possible hiding places for bed bugs, especially in places that are often overlooked, such as bed crevices, sofa crevices, and carpets. All textile items that may be infested by bed bugs, such as mattresses, sheets, pillowcases, sofa covers, etc., should be removed and washed in hot water above 60°C, or frozen directly at minus 20°C for at least 2 hours, to ensure that all bed bugs and their eggs are killed. Since bed bugs tend to temperature and carbon dioxide, specific traps can be set to catch them.

Chemical methods

Although bed bugs are resistant to traditional insecticides, including pyrethroids, pyrethroids, pyrethroids with synergists can still provide good control against bed bugs. Bed bugs are more susceptible to certain nicotinoid insecticides, such as imidacloprid and dinotefuran. When deciding to use chemical methods, be sure to purchase relevant products from regular channels and use them strictly in accordance with the instructions to avoid unnecessary harm and pollution to the human body and the environment. For homes with only a slight bed bug infestation, the above methods alone may be sufficient. However, if there are a large number of bed bugs, or the infection is serious, it is best to seek a professional sanitizing company to deal with it.
